I know your supposed to run the chain a bit loose on a hard nose bar, but I think your overdoing it.

Hi you old codger, hope you have been doing well. .

All is well here. Going to look at the first Poulan worth looking at in a long while tonight.

Any tips on getting the red cap off to access the manual oiler on a 3700? I'm afraid of breaking it. I was changing pumps today as the one on the saw is missing the little metal cover they stake in to hold the check ball and spring. The one I put on oils automatically but the manual oiler does not.

If you're careful it will come off. I've done it though I was unsure as you are now. Believe I took a small adjustable wrench and fit it under the cap and gave it a couple gentle taps.

Hey everybody, good to see you fellas here. Hi Mark! Speaking of you fellas, anyone know how OhioGregg is doing?

Boy, I thought the same thing but kept my mouth shut. Thanks Mark.
That belonged to my late preacher, all he done was gas and oil. All I did was cleaned it up and got it running , other that that it sits on a shelf me to remember him. He was a dear friend that I grew up around, plus he was my brother's pa in-law.

I thought the spring holding the check ball in my pump had worked its way out again today, when I had first started to cut. Auto was not oiling well. Turns out the fine dust from the Fir was clogging the bar hole rather quickly. That, and I had forgotten to clean out the rails last time. A pump on the manual every couple of cuts or so kept things moving along. I think these saws cut and oil the bar best on 16" setups. This one was wearing a 20".

There was a good 1/2 lb of cake under the cover and hood.
