I'm assuming you mean poulan bar specific? Cause I have a 16" mac bar with a 1/4 pitch chain but I don't know if it's the same count as a poulan bar.

Tim - the chain is sharp, the bar looked better before I roughed it up in that elm.

Silkscreened bars for the older saws were very rare in Canada. Mostly plain Windsors. Homelite had some as did Mac on the early saws.
I suspect because a lot of them were made in Canada at the time and came directly from the factory, cheapest way, rather than from the US.
I don't know if the decorating of the bars was done at Windsor or if Poulan subcontracted that.
I'm glad you picked those Poulans up. Something fun to mess with and easy to work on. They cut pretty well too.

Assuming it's a S25 series bar profile, it would be 82DLs. Your memory is good, a 14" S25 series bar does use 76DLs.

A good rule of thumb calculation is to multiply the equivalent 3/8" pitch number of DLs by 0.376, then divide by a quarter. Round that number up if around .5, to make sure you can get the chain on a brand new bar, LOL.

So a 16" S25 bar normally uses 56 3/8"
DLs, and the 1/4" pitch calcs at 82.2, so cut her off at 82 DLs.

Of course, if the bar & sprocket is worn & been sanded a few times on the rails, then you might have to cut it at 81DLs to get your chain adjuster back into action. :)

I cant figure out how to post videos, i guess im gonna have to get a u tube account and put them there
