That is good good news and a little bad, glad you traced the air leak. I have a 450 here that the casting is weak in the crankcase and will be patching it up. Also you could try baking the coil.

Add some salt and pepper, might taste better when you're done baking it.

Wouldn't you believe it but went to start saw this morning and no spark. Ran last night. Wonder if a Nova 11 module would work as I'm at wits end. All wires look good, points set at .017 and in good shape. Don't know what else to do.

Any chance you have a bad switch or a frayed wire that's grounding out the ignition?
It sounds like an intermittent issue.
Tried spark with switch disconnected. No dice. Should spark with switch disconnected, I presume, if switch were bad. All wires look fine. Agree it's likely something simple, I just don't know what.

Disconnect the switch wire from the point box and try that to make sure that it isn't shorting out

Scored this yesterday

the 54 started right up and ran great with a little fuel line cleaning, one day i will restore a saw to Mark's level. Well honestly probably not

Does anyone have a template for the dust shield that fits in between the reedvalve housing on the case and upper assembly on a 306 or 245? Have mine apart and noticed it was missing. Figure if I can get a template I can make one.

I scanned one way back when. Figured if printed out full size it would make a good template.
I'll hunt it up and post it.

Nice Mark. The Dolmar looks to be in good shape as well.
The sand cast I found for sale is a no reply so far. Maybe they went to Florida for the winter.

Tim, that's too bad,, hope it will still work out.

That yellow saw is a partner TS.

It's interesting, look it up some time at Magnus site. Originally built by Crescent and also sold as a Husqvarna.
