Nothing, I was mistaken by the earlier picture. The bow mount brace has a drop in it under the bar mount for extra clearance. Yours appears to be a standard brace and you can see where it has been beat to hell because its a standard one. What is so special about it View attachment 629003
There were two different versions of the standard brace, looks like you have one of each. The straighter one is for the early narrow cast clutch cover. The one with a bow in it is for the later, wider plastic clutch cover. Here are the only 2 braces that I have seen, the black for the 4000 and the other for the 3400,3700 is that correct View attachment 629014
Sure do Mark. It's in Vermont and used for trimming branches. Still runs great. Thinking of shipping one of my S25's up there. Have so many up there my brother may throw me out.You still got that 351? Your right about it, they were a well built saw, but it was down in power compared to a good S25. That is my take on most the old Echo's, they start and cut wood religiously but a bit heavy and a bit down on power compared to there competition. I agree that the new ones are getting away from that reputation. In fact I bought a brand new one a few months back. With this bad shoulder, I thought a less then 8lb limbing saw would be a good idea..
Looks in great shape.Found this orphan outside my shop door tonight . Was circling like a cat in heat . After a wipe down it's pretty good . It needs gone through and the chain is too long for the saw. Hello 1985 !
