Swap you an none adjustable oil pump for it

Steve

I have an adjustable pump on one. It is simply a screw that threads into one of the passages. It acts similar to a gate valve. It really only manages to decrease the flow. It doesn't work to limit the travel on the button/pintle - thinking 10 series Macs. My guess is they were short lived because the pumps really work best when the passage is not obstructed.

I've never gotten so lucky as to have a clutch come off. Not saying it can't but I always seem to fight with them lol
I will be more mindful however.

Anyone have a chain adjuster screw setup? This one is totally missing.

I also wanna muffler mod this, anyone got pics of something tried and true? I'm gonna remove the spark screen and cut one side out of the baffle like I did on my jonsered 2034 but I'm not sure what to do for the outlet.

Most of the heavy softwood logging was done on the west coast. British Columbia was early in promoting safety in the logging industry due to the frequency of injuries and fatalities. I suspect everyone else followed suit at some point.
A very dangerous occupation to be sure.
Interesting to note that some of the bigger saws I've picked up from elderly fallers had the whole brake assemblies removed from day one. I gather the changing regulations were not well received by some. Bulky, heavy and perhaps prone to tripping in the deeply furrowed and irregular Douglas bark?

I picked up a couple of AM chain adjuster screw assemblies a while ago.

My results with muffler mods on this series is not convincing. I've opened some up and they seem prone to harder starting for some reason. I've drilled out the holes in the diffuser. Some have added a couple of holes to the front of the cover. Others have opened up the side of the muffler base. I have not timed cuts before and after. But it hasn't produced obvious results as with some other saws.

My best gains come from deleting the base gasket. The squish is significant on these. A bit of timing advance helps as well. 16" bar, and a sharp full house really compliment the capabilities of these.

That one looks different than the one that's on mine, plus mine has a heat shield.

what did you use in place of the woodruff key to advance the timing? I resume something a little thinner so u could move flywheel counterclockwise?
