Actually found a good duckbill in a junk leaf blower that should work just fine.
Thanks for the seal info.
Looks like it's gonna need a starter pulley. Half of the teeth are broken off. Any leads on where to get that.
Anyone have one laying around? Willing to pay a fair amount plus shipping.

Cleaned up the 4400 I got. The piston is shot but the cylinder cleaned up. The saw still has 155 psi with weak rings on the scored piston.

Other than that, it's in really nice condition and with a little buffing turns into a Craftsman 4.2. I'm not sure if the "C" on the serial number sticker denotes Canadian or not.

Sweet looking saw!

I have a 5400 that is gonna need a piston. What are the options for a piston? @Acornhill do you have anything?

Must be a late model with the ribbed handle and with a different style throttle lock.

Steve

I think everything past the 4200 and 5200 came with that style throttle lock. The operator presence lever was standard on the 4200, 5200 (at least what I have) and others after that sold in the Canadian market. My 8500 does not have one.

Rubbing it and it becomes a Craftsman 4.2, that is hilarious,

Ok so Canada was ahead of the curve when implementing safety features, they first had the presence lever, then chain brakes etc
