This maybe an indication of too much time on my hands! Will a 4218av engine fit in a 3314 chassis? 3314 blown engine and the 4218 has a ruined chassis.

Sorry to be answering so late after the question, but I had reason to search this info out and found the piston/cylinder to be identical on the two saws I had.
The P3314 listed and the 42cc 18in (3rd pic, and buried in 4th pic) are the same strato piston and cylinder (many other parts should be identical).

Are these the saws you're referring to?

To all who have a Craftsman 5.2, do they say 5200 on the tag or 5.2? Just curious as I have never had one before. Mine obviously says 5200.

What about paint quality? Do yours have paint on the cylinder? Fuel line and carb? Air filter? Just seems weird to have so much overspray.

Mine doesn’t have 5.2 or 5200 on it . But most of my poulans in this series have a lot of overspray, notice I took this filter off another green 5200.

I found this little orange one today. I have a couple of it’s green cousins . I’ve been in a Poulan slump for the last 9 months or so maybe this will get my luck going again.

Picked this up the other day. It was delivered today. It will need the fuel line replaced and the oiler doesn't seem to work but it started right up and runs very well.

If anyone has a good clutch cover I would be interested. The top of this one has been "Modified" as it has a bow bar on it. I will be selling the bow bar as I'm not super interested in it. I could also use the muffler cover and screen if possible.

Which saw needs a clutch cover?

Anyone know what wrist pin bearing is needed for a poulan 4400 and 5200 countervibe? I can’t seem to find one anywhere online and can’t seem to find a cross reference for one that’ll work. Thanks

Expensive & tough to find lately, but one’s listed on fleabay right now for a 4900/5200/5400, all the same. Poulan 530032031.

Think there is a metric cross reference that also fits from the Deutschland maker Stihl 084. 9512 003 3440, Needle cage 13 x17x17.5 mm. Avoid the caronachina clones, they’re no good.

Finally got that impossible clutch off of the 3800. Will attempt my first crank seal replacement soon, wish me luck.
On a side note, I'm curious about the subject of play in the crank itself. I've read on here that some side to side movement is normal, but there should be no movement at all in any other direction.
That sounds straightforward, except that I've noticed just about every saw that I have seems to have a tiny bit of movement. This 3800 is no exception.

I find it hard to believe that I've had a 100% streak of picking out saws with worn out crank bearings or something. I made this short video that hopefully demonstrates what I'm talking about. Let me know if this is normal and/or within acceptable ranges or not.
