Hi everyone, I have a Poulan 3000 that I just got as an upgrade to my 2900. Unfortunately it is missing the starter pully and starter dog. Are these unobtainable? I have searched ebay and there are ones for sale, but I don't know if they are correct because the description is pretty vague. Would anyone have a picture of what theirs looks like, or alternatively point me in the right direction for parts. Are there any Husky parts that would fit? Cheers
Your saw still have the thin cover on it or has someone swapped a thick cover? Pic if you got one.

You can run both on these. But to choose right pulley got to know which cover.

Should be top one if still right but could be bottom left if been switched.

No on any huskys.

I will have to get a pic tomorrow. My starter cover is still green if that makes a difference. Those pictures will help a lot but will get one of mine for the expert opinion. Cheers Redneck.

Color dont matter. Thick or thin cover with matching pulley does. To know which pulley you need.

top is thin cover

bottom is thick cover

If oem still on it should be the thin.

Looks like the center post is gone for the starter pulley. Your going to need a whole new cover.
Poop! I've just been trying to look on line, I can't find the right style pully. I can find a new cover, without the internals, so thats not much use any way. Come on you smart techy guys, start 3D printing these for Poulan tragics . If any one has a spare they want to sell(cheapish) let me know.

Something will show up just be patient.
Good catch.

datman - You need cover shell first. Was your pulley still OK then and just center broke off?

I got covers but not sure any green thin left. Will need to look. Dont know if these green thick or left either. I know I got a grey recoil cover thin.

So is your thin pulley good or still need that?

No. the pully and dog were missing. It was bought from another state, said the rope was broken. Don't know if he knew or didn't know himself. So whats in the pictures is how I got it. That's why I was asking for pictures. I have a 2900 and didn;t know what the 3000 looked like.

So basically the only good bit I have for the starter is the spring.
...and 4 phillips head screws, sorry couldn't resist being a SA. I'll check my box of stuff to see if I have any that match.

I found a Poulan "Wild Thing" 4018 up for sale with 3 chains(2Used/1Brand New) last night for $20, went this evening and picked up.

The owner told me he bought it brand new, used it a couple times and then let it sit for 10+ years.

Soon as I got it home, opened the it up, air filter looked brand spankin' new, lines and priming bulb were hard as rock, and pull rope was stiff.

I worked the pull rope, dumped the old gas and put some fresh stuff in.

Pulled 10 times started right up an Idled perfect, and held at WOT!!!

After it warmed up, did some fine carb tuning and now I got a beater saw for cheap.

You did great. I think you're supposed to post that in the "YOU ... know what thread"
I bought an all purple WTwith bar/chain and 2 Poulan 3314's missing one bar/chain for 5 bucks each. One of the 3314's has 90-95 compression cylinder looks good and shiney. The other two have 130+. It was on my way so couldn't resist.

I would settle for any colour at the moment. Think about if your willing to part with one. Not sure how much postage would be to Tasmania from the US though. I just hate seeing a mostly good old saw sidelined for a small part thats unobtainable. Cheers.
Not worth the shipping alone to there IMHO.

Right now to Aussie wont even let first class or priority in there from us. Has to be express that is even more costly.

We were just talking about this yesterday in FB group.
