Hey guys, I have a couple of questions for you. first, what should the coil to flywheel gap be on the 3400-4000 saws be, my book hasnt got here yet. second, i rebuilt the carb on one of my 3700 saws this afternoon and when I tried to start it the thing just dumped fuel so I took the top off and it was dry as a bone, I put it back together and let it sit for a while, now it starts right up idles and runs fine. I would have thought that if the needle was leaking then there should have been fuel in the top, Im confused, any help preventing this would be greatly appreciated.

.020 on the coil gap. If it runs fine now, stop worrying about it. More than likely there was something under the needle, and now there isn't. In the top is where you lost me.

The air gap on the flywheel/coil according to manual is .010-.014
I just use a standard business card to set the gap. Easy that way. :)

I agree with Jeff on your carb problem, sounds like you "fixed it" lol, whatever it was.
Gregg,

hey poulan guys!

i have a 2800 that i got for next to nothing. i slowly aquired parts on a shoestring budget and basically turned it in to a nearly stock 3750, at 60cc.
i finished it up today and tried it out with .325 on it (thats what my only drive sprocket was).
these are some nice cuttin' little machines!

it is very hard to find a ready made 3/8 bar for this saw. it can be done by switching out the tip, but the bars are kinda high $.
the question:
is it worth getting the 3/8 setup or should i stick with the .325 and save a bundle of $$?
i feel like the saw will easily pull the 3/8 and probably cut better than the .325 but i'd like the opinion of folks who've run the saws more than i, before spending the dough.

thanks

Volks, the .325 vrs 3/8's is strictly a personal choice as far as I'm concerened. I tested .325 X 8 and 3/8s X 7 on my PP365 and they cut virtually the same.

I also done the same test on a Husky 55 this weekend and come up with the same results. Any difference is very minor.

AS far as 3/8's bars, there not hard to find in the K041 mount, it's just hard to find anything but the cheaper laminated bars.

Like Jeff said its so easy to convert the small Husqvarna K095 bars it's not a big deal.

I'm more interested in the story of how you got the 60cc top end bolted to the smaller case. How about filling us in on that?

Is this worth anything

I thought it might be collectible haven't seen another one like it

It is somewhat collectible. Don't pay no attention to the prior post. There not big money items, yours has the manual and such with it so that helps bring the price up to collectors, but yours is missing the drive side decal which will hurt it.

Yours also seems to have shown little use and would probably bring around $100.

Maybe a little more on a good day. There not real common but you do see them from time to time.

I have one that looks just about just like it.

I would like to have a copy of that manual, do you have a way to scan it?

Ditto on the manual. I'd like to get a copy also if you decide to buy it. I have one that's in about the same condition. Still need to redo the oil lines on it and get it back together.

Wild Thing

Hey guys, I installed the WT285 carb from a 2900 series which is 46cc, all I have to say is damn. It took a lot fiddling with the linkages using some parts between the carbs, then the A/C housing was rubbing the choke lever, anyway it some time to install but damn this thing rips.

The saw started life as a 2375LE, so it came with the rolled edge muffler, I just installed an early 2375 muffler, drilled the diffuser as big as the holes could go, threw away the screen and then welded a pipe on the side, it came with a WT662 carb. Even with the muffler mod and ported cylinder she was good but I felt it had way more, so yeah the bigger carb makes a big difference. This is about the same carb that would come on a Husky 36-41.
