Ipl and the manual is nice!

I have to say every time im messing with one of these i find myself at the PC looking over the ipl to see if i put it in the right order LOL and the manual ! thanks again mark!

Gregg, thats a wonderful looking 306A.

Very nice.

The way you and I are going, we ought to go in together on a truckload of Tillitoson carb kits. Maybe we could get a better deal in bulk? :msp_laugh:

Thats the thing with all these old Poulans. I should have bought a bunch of of that kinda stuff in bulk several years ago! But never dreamed I would be needing this much fuel line, filters, carb kits, etc, etc. :dizzy:

I have one carb kit left, will be going in the Thirty O Six next. Its kinda funny or sad, I don't know which. 3 years ago, I had ONE saw, a lowly 3400, lol
I came to this site looking to see where you fellas find parts to service older Poulans, I stepped off a mighty steep cliff, and am still falling!
Gregg,

Gregg,

Ha funny stuff Gregg. Me too! Found you guys when I was googling for PP180 info on Oilers...one saw, happy, but no oil.
Now a year-ish later, I have 10 (3 good runners some so-so's and projects) and looking for more! And it is still my favorite, first born thing...and it oils now

Learning a lot from this site here and the knowledge of its' experienced users. (but still not a fan of the search engine)

Found a good used engine for my PP295 ((http://www.arboristsite.com/chainsaw/145111.htm )) and am putting a new ring in when it shows and will finish that soon. Have my pics and the parts labeled as per all of your experiences, to aid the memory). That was the straw that broke the camels back, and made me join up, not just view the site, needed the advice. Glad I did.
Thanks guys for the new hobby
Paul

Looks good to me! Did you find that local?

No, it came down here from Remer, hehehehe. Was part of an estate, and the next of kin lives about a mile from the shop. I fixed up 4 or 5 others, added a couple bars and chains to the ones they put up for sale, and my reward was the 4000, minus the running part, and the nicer handle on there, and the rear handle, flywheel side was busted. Went new rim, chain and bar (swapped somebody here a 16" for the 20" you see) after I wasn't happy with the one I found in the pile of stuff from up there. Wish I could get to the woods.

Yeah I hear ya. I have pile of wood next to the boiler and every night now I have to chop through snow to get at it. Glad I don't have to go to the woods because I would be digging a path for half the day...

Now I have at least some confirmation that I may see a mightier Poulan in my area...

I started on my Thirty-O-Six today, until I ran out of heat.:eek2: The thing is in real good original condition. Found it still had an original Poulan 3014 spark plug in it. This is the first I have seen one! I have half a notion to put it back in. Don't know how rare these are anymore. I never seen one, so figured there are others who havn't also.LOL

Gregg,

Seems as though I have the ignition problem resolved. I was able to tighten the retainer on the back side of the post, so that there's no movement at all. I cleaned the points again and carefully set to spec. I only ran it a little, but I think it's good to go. I cleaned the oil pump up, but I need to order a new diaphragm and gaskets.

I've got an original Poulan plug in either my 43 or 44. Pretty cool!

Glad to hear things are looking up on the 25.;) I'm not much help with those Brad. But, it sounds like your making good progress with it.
