IIRC you just auctioned that saw on eBay and it only brought scant more that $300, around $315. Must not have met your reserve, but eBay is a fairly good indication of price/value, at least at the top end. Another nice 415 sold recently by Bowmaster for $200 with $25 shipping. His prices are usually high. When you chose to start that saw when it was NOS it was like driving a new car off the lot and even though you paid over $400 you may have "driven" the NOS off of it and that may cost you. $65 shipping it still high and may discourage bidders. And lastly, I have seen some very nice PP 475's go for only about $350. At least one was from an AS member. For these reasons your saw may not bring what you hope for but I hope you are able to get it to fund your 9010.

I see what yo are saying. We had a few people get back to us saying that they tried to bid on it again and couldn't because they just missed the end of the auction. Looks like I will have to come down a little on her.

Well I feel like a goober. I just went out and took exact measurements and weight of the saw and that dramatically lowered the cost of shipping. Also lowered the price to $350.00 or best offer. Hopefully it will move. I have close to what I need to pay for the 9010, should clear the mark with sime side work I have coming early this week. Thanks for the input guys.

We want what we want.......No one understands that better than I do.
But I would keep that 415.
They are pretty uncommon in that kind of shape.

The only reason I am selling it is because that Dolly just came in and I need the cash. The want of the 9010 is over riding the want of the 415. I do love that saw. It is probably the most powerful 60 to 65cc saw I have ever run.

If they were 3-4 pounds lighter they would quite possibly, be the best saw ever in that class.
They start and run great, pull like a freight train and say Poulan on the side!!!LOL

Awww. This sounds like the start of a beautiful friendship! :)

If you want an 'out', tell him "Man, I really thought about this, but since you used ether on it, I can't risk taking it back at full price. That stuff doesn't provide the proper lubrication to the saw and I am sure you somewhat damaged the top-end. If you have to sell it back to me at this point, I'll give you $$." $$ = what he paid you minus $50 or so. If he wants to play these games, you might as well make a buck or two. After all, you aren't in the saw rental business, right?

You should feel like a goober, you made all the right mistakes to not make a sale..

The shipping price just killed it alone. The comparisons to NOS didnt do well and the fact that it is PHO is also a factor.

That saw is also the smallest displacement in that series and not as hard to find as the 445, 475 and 505. You also listed it as being made in the Jonsered factory and I'm not 100% sure that is true, are you? Mopar Mikes 415 was in my hands and I can tell you that it is in near the conditon that yours is and was had for way less....

Kind of like a 3400 is way more common and less lots more money then a 3700 or 4000.

Good luck at getting $350 out of it now.

That is why I asked the question on here Mark, because I was not sure. Second, that saw is almost new, it has hardly cut anything. Third the serial tag says Sweden on the saw. The shipping was a mistake of not taking the exact measurements and weighing the saw, I fixed that as soon as someone mentioned it, I guessed and I was wrong. That has been corrected. I was asking so much because I paid over $400 for it, my mistake. What would you try to list it for? I appreciate the constructive criticism, but I was in no way trying to be dishonest. It was my understanding that that is where it was made. I will very quickly change that on the add if I find out otherwise.

Jim, I never ment to imply being dishonest. Just saying something that might not be true even if just a mistake can take a buyers trust away from the seller. There were other chainsaw factories in Sweeden besides Jonsered at at that time anyway and it seems Saw Troll mentioned that the saws might have been made there and might have been somewhere else. That saw was part Partner anyway and Jonsereds was owned by Elextrolux then as well and just might have been made in the Husqvarna factory.

You should have known first off that the shipping was way high. Someone could have reported you auction to ebay because of that and it could have been pulled for it.

The 415 is not all that rare so $400 to me is kinda optimistic as great shape 475's and 505's have been bought for that or less. Your mint conditon doesnt mean that much to someone who would actually use it and its not a hot enough collectors item either.

Like I said, I'm not downing you but just giveing my opinon like you asked for.

wow

Sorry Mark, I felt a little dumb. We had listed the shipping for $61.58 for a couple of reasons. The first being that there are new fee rules and I didn't want to lose on it, second was I got a price on it at 20# total and the box big enough to fit a lot of packing material. I have not sold that many saws, my wife has a ebay store for old saw parts but I don't have much to do with it. The saw just sold though for $320.00. I am very happy with that and hope to nit make the same mistakes again. That is not something that I would ever do to someone intentionally, that is why I got the price down so fast. I think redunshee informed me of that. When you guys told me that the saw was not worth as much as I thought it was, I also dropped the price fast. I brought it from $450 OBO down to $350 OBO within a day. Again, thanks for the input to all who did.....Even Mark;)

I am sad to see it go, but what is replacing it is an animal and they are getting real hard to find brand new. My dealer told me that the 9010 I am getting is one of two that is left in Georgia, he may be bsing a little, but I know they will get harder and harder to find.

Congrats on your anniversary. I am very happy with the outcome. That is a great saw, Mike is right, if it was a little lighter that would really be something.

I just saw where you are from, I bet you can. Good thing mine is already at the dealer's place waiting for me to pick it up. You better get there to get the last one. I can't wait to put that on the Alaskan. I was thinking of that today when the clutch on my old 045av staring going up towards the end of a spruce log I was milling to build a chicken coupe.
