Right on Aaron. The newer on the 2S25DAs has a blown p/c, the parts saw is good, just nasty case. The complete CVA i just got yesterday, needs isolators, the other one has good antivibe but puked its wrist pin and the clips took care of the p/c. both CVAs are points, the newer 25 is ss, gonna see if I can mount it on the ss coil on the points jug. I know the mounting is different, as are flywheels but I think Paul managed too do it.

joe i never got that to work ...the one you are thinking of was a poulan micro solid state coil to work on a solid state s25da saw... had to do the mods i have the pics some place if thats what you trying to do i could even make you a template and mail it to you .I never did get the solid state coil to work on the points housing... i drilled it tapped it was going to swap fly wheels and kinda lost interest i dont think it would work all that well... but your pretty darn good at mods!!! give it a shot i would love to check your pics out if you got it to work!

Have a shot of Jack Daniels, or maybe two.

As Frank Barone would say," Holy Crap"

I just received Brad Snellings WildThing 4018WT. I have the same saw and was curious to see how they matched up. I used my bar and chain and HOLY CRAP! I'm not sure a 55cc saw or maybe even a 60cc could cut any faster! I was shocked to say the least. I know he opened up the muffler big time but assume he did a port job on the cylinder as well. I think I need to learn to port!

It's a lot of fun, I have done two now, my 044 and my SD 120si. It is awesome what a porting job will do to a saw.

I learned from a guy I bought some golf clubs from. After giving him the money, he said they were guaranteed for 1-year, or when I crossed his property line, whichever came first.

In Kentucky, we call that a "Tailight Guarantee"!!!

When your tailights go out of sight...so does your guarantee!!!

Mike, wasn't that long ago for some of us, a while longer for you, I suppose.

Just went through the same thing, lady wants me to fix her mower, won't start, bad battery, starter gear, blades were an inch short on both ends and one was tilling the lawn for them, they don't even get the lawn mowed and the transmission is junk, broken axle I think. Can you fix it? Sure, I said, but throw that money into a newer mower, as hers was a Craftsman from the early nineties. So she buys a different one, a week goes by, "Can you fix my weed wacker?" she says. Tuned it, new plug (BTW, the idiots have again come up with a new adjusting screw-two flat sides, and splined, small enough that your splined driver won't turn it), showed her how to start it, 3 days later she calls "I can't get this thing started". So we have the training session again, and it turns out her son tells her that position three (choke wide open) is where you have to start it at, not at one (full choke). Maybe he learned to count backwards, I don't know. Today, father says the chain saw you have here won't start, it pops, but won't stay running. I'm thinking my $20 northern tool Poulan that came with a new bar, $4.97 without the chain brake and brake handle, is letting me down? I asked, "Did you take the choke off?" He says what choke? "That blue thing under the switch" I said is the choke. "Wheres the oiler then?" Its a Poulan, Dad, not your boat anchor PM 610, and BTW, the choke was blue on that also. "Well, whats it got that primer bulb for then?" I told him to confuse older folks like you, I suppose, and started it on the second pull.

Hi guys. Some of you may remember that I found a NOS Poulan Pro 415 this winter at an old timers shop. I am trying to sell it right now to raise money to pay for my new Dolmar 9010 coming this week. I have already sold my 044 that I ported (that one was hard to let go) and this one also has to go. I have an add up in the classifieds and my wife has one up on fleabay. I paid over $400 for it this winter and I don't even think I have 6 tanks through it. I was trying to get $400 out of it but I can negotiate a little, but not much. You guys think I am trying to get too much out of it?

I don't know anything about the value of saws. I have some that I am sure I paid to much for but it made both the seller and the buyer happy.
That saws looks to be in great shape. If you find somebody who wants exactly that model I think they will feel good about the purchase.

I do think that this time of the year is a little "soft" for selling saws. We are all so busy doing "summer stuff" saws are kind of on the back burner.:cool2::cool2:

That saw is just as shiny and nice as the day it came out of the box probably twenty years ago. I think you're right about the time of year.

If its the one on Ebay, $90 shipping will scare any interested offers away.

Bob

PS: it is a great looking saw!

I thought my wife listed the shipping at $61 because it is a heavy saw. That's why the OBO is on the auction. The lowest I can go on it is $350.00 plus shipping and handling. I think you will see that the shipping for a lot of stuff on fleabay will be higher now because they have just tacked more fees on for the shipping. Before you know it nothing is going to move on that site because of all the fees. Anyone who gets it on here through the classifieds will have a little different situation on the shipping end.

IIRC you just auctioned that saw on eBay and it only brought scant more that $300, around $315. Must not have met your reserve, but eBay is a fairly good indication of price/value, at least at the top end. Another nice 415 sold recently by Bowmaster for $200 with $25 shipping. His prices are usually high. When you chose to start that saw when it was NOS it was like driving a new car off the lot and even though you paid over $400 you may have "driven" the NOS off of it and that may cost you. $65 shipping it still high and may discourage bidders. And lastly, I have seen some very nice PP 475's go for only about $350. At least one was from an AS member. For these reasons your saw may not bring what you hope for but I hope you are able to get it to fund your 9010.
