Thats right, that kid dont realize 90% of the posters on this thread would throw one away before bothering to work on one of those things.

Hell, don't seem like many of you even like Macs to begin with... I have a solution... I''ll send you all of the Poulans I have and get (minus the 3000 and good series) and you send me all of the old Macs you find (minus the Mini Macs that have to be taken apart completely to work on)

Sound good? I know it does for me...

I think I got him (joe25DA) all mad and he went to the dump to find one to bring home and throw against the wall of his shop... :msp_lol:

You would've received a WoodShark with a broken rear handle, a partially torn down top handle WoodShark, and a unidentified Poulan carcass... lol.

Future sendings are not guaranteed. I may port and muffler mod the rest I get... and sell some of them to unsuspecting homeowners on CL... Lol, it'd probably show back up on CL for less that what I sold it for, and I'll go get it and resell it... :jester:

Nahh then Id have to clean up a mess! I dont have anything against Macs either. But I have passed on that model more than once, along with Homelite super2's and 330s. As far as Im concerned there is really only one saw in that class and thats the S25DA. The others just cant match up in quality, construction, durabilty, ease of repair and the biggest part..performance. That goes for the newer saws in that class as well.

Just got this one from my buddy Mark. I have a 306 in Wizard colors but this is my first 306 in green and black. Needs the very basics which will be good for a change. I have the perfect bar for it too.

It has been a while since I have bought a saw. Summer is busy. How about lets see them 5200's/ 8500's! I hear that they are out there and some of you guys have them. I am almost ashamed to show mine with its beat up decals and little dinky bar, but I will if you show me yours. I never tire of looking at that 4200-8500 series of saws.

Ok, I'll play too! Here is my 4200 & 5200. Not as pretty as Marks restored beauties, but they do work. At least the 4200 does. I been using it quite a bit lately. The 5200 should run good too. I have not run it since giving it a good going over this spring. It was giving me trouble and I wanted it ready for the GTG, that didn't happen. :msp_mad:

I tore it down, split the case and put new seals in it. Put new rings in also while it was apart. Newer tank/rear handle, antivibe bushings etc. Was going to paint it and put new decals on it. But was too cold at the time for paint work. I tried something else also. Good or bad. I put a carb from a 4200 on it. One without a governor. I started it after I got it back together, and seemed to run great. Just havn't had it in wood yet.

Bought all the saws I could find in Virginia and moved to Kentucky! Actually, my wife accepted a position at Eastern Kentucky University and we moved to Lexington a month ago today. I was MIA getting our house ready for market and getting packed up. Didn't bring a saw with me either....

Well, both packages were sitting here safe and sound this morning when I arrived. The saw looked good and I am going to take it home tonight and give it a complete inspection.

Yeah, it has compression and will shortly be a runner.

I'm glad it got there safe. It has always been a runner. I have invested in a new gauge. I was sure my gauge was wrong at 130psi
