Hard to tell without being there to check it, but if you have a known good coil I would try that before I did anything else.

Would you be able to pick up the interruption with a pulse tach if you didn't have a spare coil?

Man, I'm happy about it!

Sorry to hear about your health problems..maybe in time it'll get better? I've had a little back trouble but not like yours. Mine is caused, I think, from weighing a bunch more than I should.

When it first happened in an accident at work I went to the straight docs and they wanted to do immediate surgery, take all my disks out, and insert a steel or titanium rod in my spine. They then said I would be lucky to be able to hobble around with a walker or perhaps be confined to a wheelchair.

I said no way (a bit stronger than that...), managed to painfully get outta there, went to my sis's chiro guy, he worked on me for two hours then I started six months of painful as all get out therapy.

Hey, I can stand up! Do work! Do stuff! I do farm work which is vigorous and I cut wood and split it. I never healed up all the way but "enough" Put me into early semi retirement, this is about the best job I can get which can accommodate my once in awhile "sick leave" action, but better than way earlier full retirement with nothing and no job...The way I look at it, what's not to like?

A few times a year it goes out and I get excruciating back spasms. And oddly enough it is never doing anything hard at all, just goofy stuff, I mean real goofy..walking across the floor, shift suddenly in the chair to get up..just odd random times. Lasts a few days to a week, then better again. I have had fewer and less severe spasms since I got an inversion table device last year and started using that. It's just the mammary glands for a lot of back troubles, wish I had gotten one years ago now.

My apologies to the thread and members for the offtopic, but it might help someone here. Can't say enough about those inversion tables...

^^^^^^

That's farking sick Gregg! Lol I shoulda offered him another $30!!

I have a Poulan 3800 and that's 61cc's as well (or as far as I know). Was there any difference between the 3700's and 3800's....??

As Ohiogregg had said. I also had a grey Craftsman 3.7, and a Poulan 3800, and that had the chrome piston and bare bore with thicker rings, both are still 61cc. All 3700 Poulans are thin ringed chrome bore saws. Some have said that some later model Red Craftsman 3.7s were chrome piston and bare bore. Just pull the muffler and check you'll know right away.

one of ya all?

hey is it one of ya all biddin against me on the bay for the very clean poulan s25???? if so i will chill and let it go as i have 12 and 4 really nice ones... if not i may just bid on it one more time hehehe!!!!

Another one!

Dang it is feast or famine around here. Don't have the money, but couldn't pass it up. Was only out shopping for groceries and whatnot and hit a few places on the way and got this little lady, grabbed it in "don't run" condition just for the 20" bar and chain mostly, very little use on bar, chain looks about as new as it can get, but..it popped and ran for a coupla seconds on a capful down the sparkplug hole. No luck with through the tank though, so at least a filter and a line so far, and for sure an airfilter..there ain't but a screen that used to hold filter material. Hopefully I caught it in time to maybe clean it (maybe re ring it, exhaust side cylinder looks fine, but that carb side I haven't looked at yet, I know it musta sucked down some fines). Sounded mean, growling when it ran...

right, left and obligatory "oh, my, isn't that large and menacing" perspective shot with the bar.

Your air filter can't be much worse than some of these beauties that were on some saws I acquired.:D
You would think folks would realize a filter is on there to serve a purpose, but evidently not.

And your right! There isn't a much more menacing sight, than a 3400 with a banana nose bar.

Zogger your gonna like that 3400. It is a later model by all the black and the newer decals. If she isn't scored you gotta nice deal. Ohh and open that muffler up, drill the baffle holes with the biggest drill bit that'll fit without connecting all the holes, lose the screen, and cut a slit in the side and then you'll see haw mean she sounds. Carb should be an HDB 19. Mowers4u on ebay carries all those kits if needed. Replace the fuel line with some Oregon tygon line, and check to see if the duckbill valve is still there in the top of the fuel tank. The duckbill PN is 530026119

Mowers for you rocks!!!!! they get almost all my money these days!!! cant beat the price and they ship it so fast!!!! and they are cool to deal with Hama!

Joe, I think we got them bars about the same time, as I recall. I have another one like it, but black, with green Poulan on it. Both are 16 inchers. At the time I was hoping to find an 18" banana nose bar, as that was what was on my 3400 when I bought it new. All I have ever seen are 16's. Not that it makes much difference anyway. I just don't seem to use a 3400 much anymore. I guess thats either the good or bad thing about having so many saws to choose from. LOL
