Finally got around to getting a new chain for the 6000 and got it and the 38" bar put on it. This was done to get away from the .404x8 sprocket on it. I ended up with a 3/8x8 on it instead.

It should run better now!

I need to see if I can get a bigger set of dogs for it so it will stand up on its own now though. :hmm3grin2orange:

Heck though it really wouldnt do it before either. Chris has a bigger set on his and I can probably use them for patterns.

Have you looked at Bailey's catalog ? They sell a rim/drum setup for the 41/141 Husqvarna. You can also go to oregon.com and then go to parts lookup and click on professional . Put in the husqvarna 41 saw and all pitch for chain/bar. It should then give you the part numbers.

I looked it up on Baileys and on Oregon's website. I see they sell .325 pitch sprockets that are spurs not rim & drums. I hate spur sprockets but at least its something...

Ok disregard previous post. I searched "141" on Baileys and found the rim/drum. Oregon's site still says they don't make it. Strange.

Just in case someone missed the photos...

...the first five times.

Now that I farted in church, that saw looks great, Mark.

Hey Mark, nice photography. I can even read the fine print on the beer can!
Since I have seen how nice your saws are I vow never to post a picture of my ratty old bombs again. And after seeing your big old Poulan-Dolmar I have developed depression as I am certain I will never actually get to have one.

I don't see why not if you really want one.
I know where it's little brother is for sale right now!!!

Aw Mike, you know how I hate to part with my own money. :smile2:
And you also know I have never spent more than about $70.00 on any of my Poulans either. I got some Dollies, most of them yellow MacDollies and I got lots of real Poulans but I have been told none of those big green Dolmars ever found their way out to Australia.
I am still looking though and that is one thing I am mighty good at so if there is one hiding here somewhere I will find it. I found a big McDolly SP 118 (Dolmar 166) recently but at $500.00 I passed it on to Chris over at Woolongong who collects such things. He likes it, but I have lot of 120cc plus monsters. I kind of like the 80 to 90 cc range. Like Mark's pretty lime green baby.
And Mike, thanks for those Poulan oil caps, they fit just fine!

Al, I like seeing minty saws :msp_thumbup:, & admire those who do full restorations .

That said, the battle scars on "ratty old bombs" prove that those chainsaws were used like a chainsaw was meant to be used. I like to think that there's a good story behind every scar.

Now that's what I want!!!!! That thing looks awesome and I've gotta give you props for the great looking work bench and nicely finished workshop. Mine is cleared out to a dirt floor, and I am working on the plans and layout......jealous, for now.:msp_thumbup:

Now for my next newbie question.....I have a host of 25s and S25DAs that I am in the process of getting in running order and have pulled a few flywheels to inspect/adjust points, only to find a couple don't have points, and the coils don't have a terminal for the points lead. I can see that the crankshafts are machined to open and close the points, but the ones that don't have points are not machined with the same cam-like grind. I assume that the ones without points are electronic ignition and I could use those coils on the points saws with the matching flywheel. Can anybody contradict my theory?

I can't believe I forgot to hit "Submit Reply" last night before I went to bed, so this is about 10 hours overdue.

I have found Oregon's site to be very informative, but sometimes they are missing some information. I was looking for a sprocket last week that I know is used on several saws and had to cross reference by looking up a different saw to get the correct part number. It is still a fantastic help for a new guy like me.
