Factory refurb with a warranty is OK, but be prepared for doing the final tuning yourself, I wouldn't completely trust it even refurbed. Do a search here on correct carb tuning. Not sure on that model but it's around 50% off new price, something like that? Doesn't seem too terrible.

And as said in...five thousand threads here...you can go used local for real cheap and do a little repairs yourself. Anything you might want to know about basic repairs is already covered here. Craigslist is a good source, just be picky and negotiate hard.

With that said, you want an instant runner to go cut wood, look up on the page and hit the classifieds button and look at the saws for sale here. You might find a pretty good saw for not much more than that 99$. Or post a "wanted to buy" post, indicate your budget, see if you get any offers. A lot of guys here just like fixing then flipping saws out, and are good at what they do. You'll see fair prices to outright good deals all the time there, any size saw.

Thanks alot I will shop around a bit more before committing. Thanks for the info on classifieds I appreciate it.

that's cool. I just looked, not a lot of hundred buck saws on the classifieds now. You can try the swap meet thread as well, just say you can swap "green". That thread gets a lot of traffic. I bet you can find a good saw for that around here. Not top shelf, but a decent runner.

Here is the last page on the swap meet thread. Scroll to bottom, post a request, what you might be looking for.

You mean this one?

I think that was a setup. The 290 needed a operator. It wouldnt matter though the 3700 would have still smoked it.

You could hear the muffler mod on the 3700 and I have said before that a good muffler modded 3700 would hang with a 4000.

I got my Mac off the bench, what a great day it was to get that PITA off of there.

I dont know why I even got it but I probably wont be getting any more.

Good find on the 3700.

I still have to drill ports for the H/L jets too and Im 99% sure this carb is original.
The 3700 is in nice shape, it will complete my 3 saw collection in that series.

Hey joe,

I was wondering since you have some spare parts for the 3.7. Would you happen to have a air filter that you would be willing to part with at a decent price I will
Pay for any extra cost.

026?

i would like to see the 3.7 and a 026 pro race i have a 3.7 now and ive had an 026 and an 026 pro my 3.7 reminds me alot of how my pro felt in the cut i wish i still had it to compare the 2.....my 026 was pretty fast also but it had a yellow chain i gave it away when i sold the 026pro ... i would really like to see those two saws have a go with the same chains... now i know why ya all love this model saw!!!!

I was doing the same thing, then asked my local dealer for a roll price. He came back with 30 bucks a 50 ft roll for tygon. Might be worth a try. Actually, once we settled on a price I asked for 25 ft for $15 and got it:) I have a good dealer. :msp_thumbup:

Buy it! I got 25' of Oregon alcohol safe fuel line from Baileys for $34.99 and now I know I got hosed.....literally.

Agree. I ported the exhaust port( don't have the ba%^$ to tackle the intake) and using your moded muffler, my 3700 screams. Am sure it will stay with a 4000, easily.

NOS S25DA with case

I can't believe no one mentioned the S25DA that's been on EBAY for the last week. Maybe everyone was afraid to bring it up for fear of expanding the interest. Well, I had bid on it but stopped when it hit the high $100's. Sold for $203 as I remember. Someone sure wanted it. Hope it was someone here.

I've had my 25 on there for three weeks and nobody will even bid $25!
