did you guys see that video on youtube of a 3700 vs 290FB? id post the link but i dont know how on this new blackberry tablet my wife got me for xmas.
Factory refurb with a warranty is OK, but be prepared for doing the final tuning yourself, I wouldn't completely trust it even refurbed. Do a search here on correct carb tuning. Not sure on that model but it's around 50% off new price, something like that? Doesn't seem too terrible.
And as said in...five thousand threads here...you can go used local for real cheap and do a little repairs yourself. Anything you might want to know about basic repairs is already covered here. Craigslist is a good source, just be picky and negotiate hard.
With that said, you want an instant runner to go cut wood, look up on the page and hit the classifieds button and look at the saws for sale here. You might find a pretty good saw for not much more than that 99$. Or post a "wanted to buy" post, indicate your budget, see if you get any offers. A lot of guys here just like fixing then flipping saws out, and are good at what they do. You'll see fair prices to outright good deals all the time there, any size saw.
Thanks alot I will shop around a bit more before committing. Thanks for the info on classifieds I appreciate it.

You mean this one?
I think that was a setup. The 290 needed a operator. It wouldnt matter though the 3700 would have still smoked it.
You could hear the muffler mod on the 3700 and I have said before that a good muffler modded 3700 would hang with a 4000.

I got my Mac off the bench, what a great day it was to get that PITA off of there.
I dont know why I even got it but I probably wont be getting any more.
Good find on the 3700.

If you want a good saw at a low price, look at the Poulans on ebay. They're pretty cheap there. You can probably get a heck of a Poulan for $100.
I was doing the same thing, then asked my local dealer for a roll price. He came back with 30 bucks a 50 ft roll for tygon. Might be worth a try. Actually, once we settled on a price I asked for 25 ft for $15 and got it I have a good dealer. :msp_thumbup:
Hey joe,
I was wondering since you have some spare parts for the 3.7. Would you happen to have a air filter that you would be willing to part with at a decent price I will
Pay for any extra cost.

I can't believe no one mentioned the S25DA that's been on EBAY for the last week. Maybe everyone was afraid to bring it up for fear of expanding the interest. Well, I had bid on it but stopped when it hit the high $100's. Sold for $203 as I remember. Someone sure wanted it. Hope it was someone here.
