Nick, no offense, but you need to get out of Illinois more often. :hmm3grin2orange:
I do need that. Hell, I grew up on a farm north of Lafayette, and didn't know what yardbird was. So, whatcha getting in a big box tomorrow?
Nick
Ah, the box, sorry I cant tell ya that yet. It aint Mac yella though I'll spill that much.
Wierd, I never heard of anyone moving "to" Illinois.

Well its good that the Dayton arrived in the candy bar box because its pretty sweet!
Did the Mac arrive in a Charmin box. :hmm3grin2orange:
Nope...........but it DID come from a guy who runs a beer bottle labe adhesive factory. Traded a creamsicle for it.
So it must be a creamsicle then. You're always rattling on and on about how much you WISH your Pull-On saws were more like the shtills!:hmm3grin2orange:
Here's the last two saws to come to me in big brown boxes. Some Mac yella along with the Dayton orange. The rebadged 245SA arrived in a Milky Way candybar box!
At the moment, the Dayton seems to be having a bit of an identity crisis.:jester:

Sorry, I couldnt help myself, you know how I am. Sounds like you upgraded on that trade though.
So is the Dayton a runner yet? It wont mind the green cover any.
Aaron, I have not found a generic for those 245 seals yet. I assumed the FW side could be matched up and I think I did at one time but the PTO side is a very thin seal and I have not found any generic matchups for it "yet" I have been lucky to find NOS seals when I have needed them so far so have not had to do the real hard search yet.
I have had a 16" NOS Poulan bar for a long time now and I figured it was time to mount it on a saw. I put it on my grey/black Craftsman since this saw looks almost new. Its a nice looking saw.
There weren't too many exotic European cars for me to fix in Indiana.
I heard you were looking for an old 2 man saw, which usually requires a pretty big box......am I getting warm?
Nick
Thanks for the info Mark. I cut the stuff I edited into my earlier post back out and posted it seperately........but you'd already answered me. I'm going to keep searching I guess. I'll do a pressure test on this saw. Maybe I'll get lucky and the seals will be fine. The other saw is the "shot" (as in .223 thru the fuel tank) 245A that Mitch posted up about earlier. Getting that project from him along with a few Homelite parts. I'd have it already if the state of fruits and nuts hadn't screwed up my tax return (but that's another iritating story). Once I have that saw I'll for sure want to put it back together with new seals. The Poulan crankseal search continues....
Give me a reminder this weekend and I'll dig out some parts and get some measurments again.
