My mom has Alzheimer's and my dad is determined to take care of her and won't hear of getting help. He's almost 82 and it is sad to see the toll it is taking on him.

Same here, except it is my dad and my mom trying to cope. It's a horrible disease.

I threw the plate away and added a second outlet on the 3000. Big difference.

Don't know why I never thought of throwing the plate away! Wonder if it would make a diff. if you put the new exhaust opening on the other side of the muffler? Wonder if there is enough space for it? Have to check.

I've got a few questions about a 12yr old Woodshark 1950.

First what size fuel lines do I need for a Zama carb?

Secondly can I take the blue and red caps off the adjustment screws? When and if they are removed can I adjust the carb with standard screwdriver?

I just acquired this saw from my grandpa and I know it's been sitting for several years. I cleaned all the old junk off it cleaned the air filter, replaced the spark plug. I can start it but it will not idle it needs to be on full throttle or it will die. Do any of you have any tips for me?

Hey Dennis, I don't know the fuel line size but the small tygon fuel line fits my zama and walbro carbs. You might want to take the muffler off and look at the piston,ring,and cylinder for scoring. Then open the muffler and inspect the spark arrester screen for carbon build-up. When you remove the limiters trim the ears off and put them back on and you'll be able to use a screwdriver for adjustment.

Hey Joe, you're correct, it is 3/32" inside diameter and the outside is 3/16".

Yeah, Poulan made millions of them because they were so unpopular. Actually, I've never owned one....I've owned between 5 and 10 at a time but never one. Right now it's around six.... That's just the 25 series.

Part of the problem is Poulans screwed up numbering system.

The S25DA is very nearly the perfect top handle chainsaw!!!

The XX series is a lot closer to the opposite end of the spectrum.


Now don't get me wrong the worst of the Poulan saws are better than the majority of the competetion but they PALED in comparison to the S25DA.

I agree, I love my S25DA

I haven't tried it but I would bet the S25DA and other older reed valve Poulans would perform as good if not better than any modern saw today in its class and CC size and last longer as well.... what do you all think?

All this talk about them makes me want another one. A real cream puff, and the nice running one I have now(the beat up looking one) will get Snellerized.

My friend has an MS200T. I should run them side by side this spring and see how they do. That would really chap some ***** if I posted that video.

Once you've worked on a Stihl 200T you'll be glad to own a Poulan 25DA!

There were several hundred people there and when this saw was up for bids it's like the bidders had their backs turned or something. I picked it up for around $10. I don't think there was another bidder, had a nice Windsor bar and chain which looked to be low mileage. Hey, I'll take them if nobody wants them! This one isn't gonna be for sale..

I like my little Craftsman1.9/Poulan XXD. Strong running, well built little saw. Has a Tillotson HU14 carb too. Not crazy about either of the oiler setups on that saw however.

I do too. Glad you guys jumped in. With the lack of sleep I've had over the last few days, I wouldn't have been able to type an even halfway civil response to that ******. I also agree with what Joe said...........we should let ####birds trash talk the Poulans to keep the resale prices down...
