Man, all you guys would have a laugh if/when I show up to a GTG. Some skinny(well, not as much as I used to be) little punk, pulling up in a German hot rod, and grabbing a bunch of saws out of the trunk.....yeah, that's not good for a few laughs.

Nick

Nick just give us the plate # ahead of time and you'll be fine. Otherwise, you'll have a buncha 'stout' (can't say "husky" on a chainsaw forum unless you're talkin' orange saws) guys in overalls and jeans with suspenders throwning High Life cans at you and yer furrin' car as you pulled up.:D

What about a guy with a 4 door chevy 2500, 2yr. old in the back, pregnant wife shotgun, and a driver about ready to......well, nevermind.....
It's gonna be a long summer.......

Mark, the hose fittings are on deck

Helluva nice day here in PA, trees are starting to bud, sap season is just about over.

Karl

I could pull up holding a case of beer out the window. What should I bring? I personally like Heineken and Budweiser American Ale, but that stuff is hard to find around me for some reason.

Is the pregnant wife bare footed? Is the 2 yr old wearing bib overalls? Is the 2500 a 4WD? is there a cooler full of beer, a dog and some chainsaws in the back of it?

If at least some of those answers are yes, you would fit in just fine around here. :ices_rofl:

Let me know about the fittings when you get a chance, no hurry as I feel my wallet getting lighter already. :msp_biggrin:

Hopefully some other guys here will want some as well.

How about a nice heavily hopped I.P.A.???

Mike

:ices_rofl: Like Mark, I have no clue what that is...sounds like a souped up I P O D or something.:D

I allways thought green saws, hard wood, and a few of these went together well!:msp_thumbsup:

Gregg,

I guess Schlitz would be a Union beer. Actually, there's a bunch of great beers brewed in Chicago also. 312 is a good ones, but only after the work is done. High Life it is then.

Nick

Being that I live in the Chicago area, PBR is a staple. Its one of two beers served at Wrigley Field(but I'm not a cubs fan).

Tell me about the Pliney. That looks intriguing! It looks unfiltered, possibly a wheat beer?

Nick

Also, my brother in law is from Nashville, and his step-dad has some clients that make their own 'shine. They gave me a couple Mason jars full for Christmas. We could always crack that open. I know we have a banjo around here somewhere.......

Pliney the Elder is a super hoppy IPA brewed about 15 miles from me at the Russian River Brewing Company. Pliney the Younger is a limited eddition, two week only SUPER hopped up IPA that's only available for two weeks out of the year. They also do wheat beers, stouts, and all maner of awesomeness. I am blessed to be close to RRBC, Bear Republic Brewing Company, Lagunitas Brewing Company, Marin Brewing Company, Anderson Valley Brewing Company, St Helena Brewing Company, and many others.

One of these days I'm going to do my own 'shine. Would like to put some up in charred oak and let it turn into bourbon too. Gotta dream...:D

It was 77 here in the People's Republic yesterday, should finish up the roof on the wood shed today and start splitting my pile of oak by the weekend.

I think the micro beer crowd would have to hide behind a dually and throw budwieser cans out to divert attention...

never been to a GTG (haven't seen one nearby), but I HAVE figured out that instead of I.P.A. it would be P.B.R., M.H.L, or BUD.

Mark, that is a beautiful tree. Knocking that monster out in 3 weekends was a feat!

(...and I felt compelled to snag part of your post as a sig... PM me if that is an issue for some reason)

Craftsman/POulan 3800

Decided to port my 3800 to have something to do. I plan to widen the exhaust port, which I've done before. This time I thought I'd try to widen the intake port as well. Has anyone done this with good results? Would I have to enlarge the intake manifold circular opening as well? Seems like it might be large enough. I don't plan to lower or raise anything as I have no idea how much , etc.. I inderstand that widening the ports will increase torque onlyand not rpm's.
