Hi guys, I'm still new here but I thought you might be interested in my find yesterday, I picked up a nice 306 and a 245 last night for 40 dollars. The 245 was suppose to be a parts saw don't know the story behind it but it has good compression, the 306 has a broken recoil. And one of those crazy old roller tip bars which is pretty cool. Ive been meaning to Make an account on flicker or one of those other sites. I'll get some pictures up soon.-derek

Pull off the top of the gas tank, I bet a rotten fuel line is the culprit. Time to go get some tygon and make a runner. The broken recoil will be fun as it is inside the saw and not in the side cover. To tune the carb just set at 1 1/4 turn out on both the high and low, no more no less.

*Nice* matched 50-70 firewood plan! I bet there's a story behind them.

You don't need a flickr account for pics, you can upload them to arbsite right from your computer or phone. Scroll down to manage attachments with your post (hit edit first or start a new one) and follow instructions.

anyone got a 4620 or similar clutch cover laying around? I got a couple in a bulk buy and one cover is ate up and the other cover is 'tool-less' (and apparently un####able).

I also have piles of newish (purple wild-thing era) 33cc parts if anyone is interested. P&C's are garbage, but all else is fine, including carbs. I think I have a spare two-piece mufflers in the pile... can't remember for sure.

Thx,
Vic

Finally got a Poulan worth posting in here! I wanted a old Poulan and I wanted a bow saw.I got the best of both!! :msp_thumbsup: Not sure if Marc may have posted a pic of this before?Been slacking on you guys lately  Marc was nice enough to let me take it off his hands  Looks like it would fire right up?I will clean things up first. Then it will have to get restored!Sometime? LOL

i got the tool less version, missing the knob thing. If I had any confidence the tool less would work, I would take you up on it. From everything I have read and heard, they simply don't work. Did you find it worked okay?

After staring at it for a while, I don't see any way to remove the material (make it a standard 2-nut bar tightener) and keep the integrity of the part.

I've got a good clutch cvover with working chainbrake from a 2775.
It's green, so if you are color conscious.........................

PM me if you are interested.

I have never used one either? All I know is you got to be very careful with it! Its more for show than anything LOL I don't know what it weighs but its HEAVY! LOL

You saw that thread with that weird extended handle russian chainsaw mounted on a bicycle, the thing ran the bike and had the bar sticking straight out?? The zombie apocalypse mad max bike? bwahahah, too cool..anyway, make you a USA version with that saw! You need a good ole cast iron schwinn or columbia bike, mount the bow saw on the front with some gear to drive the front wheel, but it has to keep the bow on it as well.

Then YOU ride it, I don't wanna.....I'll watch....

It be baaad to the T bone!

heheheh..actually, I have an old dead moped, my first enconter with ethanol fuel gone bad....overhead fuel tank, too old of mix fuel, phase separation, the water and alky stuff first down to the carb, started ran for a few seconds real high rpm then locked up. the P/C looks like the worst straight gassed evah. Man I was bummed, that thing was near new and got 150-200 MPG!. I need to figure out what saw to use to repower the thing. The engine is down by the crank and more or less built into the frame. Looks to be a job to repower it and it is so old there aren't any factory parts for it.

Proly easier to use a cheap 4 smoke go cart engine.
