i do need one part. while i was cutting the choke rod grommet (part no. 2594) gave up the ghost. i've got both pieces and thought about super glue. new would be even better.
also, needing a sprocket (part no. 4836).
other spare parts are always nice to have. you got a list?
thanks for the offer. jerry

Jerry, sprockets for those are always on eBay it seems.

Thanks to youall for the carb cleaning tips. So I guess the concensus is a quick dip

Or maybe keep spraying? I also ruined a carb (on my snowblower) by soaking it in the spray for days, and kept spraying and waiting. Yeah, everything welded shut. Now I know what happened, I didn't know before this.

Anyone recognize this saw?

The seller wants $50 and says it's a PM 330

Really is strange as to what turns up missing on a junk pile saw.:msp_confused:

Thanks for the comments on the 3400 fellas. I can't remember the name of the guy I got it from. :bang:
He said it was in good shape and he just rebuilt the carb. I wasn't expecting it to be in that good of shape.

Ed you got it from me. I'm STILL waiting on that PP 655BP you said you'd send me in trade for it however. Get over your amnesia and box 'er up!:jester:

I found this saw locally 5 min from my house which is rare but nice. I was told the saw had no compression. I pulled it over and hmmmm, it didnt feel like a low compression saw. Didnt sound like it either. But hey for the price it was right and no shortage of parts on it. Took it home and pulled the muffler, P/C looks pretty good, no need to pull jug, certainly no significant scoring. Pull the A/F cover and NO PLUG! Guess Ill just have to make another runner.;)

Easy to make "S" bar clip

I got thinking about making a clip and found a good material that just about anyone should be able to come up with.

The facory clip on my 5200 measure .027 thick by .138 wide.

I found some old windshield wiper metal rods in the garage (junk storage area) and they are .028 thick and .094 wide.

They are made of spring steel and should hold up well.

I just clamped a 1/4" hex head bolt in the bench vise and clamped the end of the rod to the bolt with vice grips leaving the top of the jaws flush with the top of the rod and wrapped it around. I took the wrapped end rod to the saw and put the wrapped end over the rear bar stud and wrapped the rod around the end of the front bar stud, cut the excess off and closed the end down a bit with pliers.

Seems to work really well and took 5 minutes to make.

Do the plugs help with compression? :msp_tongue:

Here's a low hour Poulan 455... same as Pioneer P45. I got the saw from member SilverKing. He's a great guy, the saw is better than he made it to be. The piston and rings still have the machine marks. I found the new bar on ebay. 72cc with a factory 3rd transfer.

Poulan decal part numbers

Does anybody know of a chart or have the part numbers for some of the Poulan and Poulan Pro decals for some of the older saws such as 2800,3000,3750,335,336,Etc. They don't seem to be in any of the ipl's I have for the saws. I bought a couple decals off ebay for my 3450 and got the part numbers of them off of them when they showed up. It would be nice to have a number to research some nos stuff thats out there. Thanks.
