I did notice in their new program that they had * by everything, and in small print at the bottom said * = Husquvarna minimum advertised prices. Basically not to go under.

The minimum advertised price (MAP) is just that. The minimum price that the dealer can advertise. This does not mean that they can't sell for less, heck they can give it away if they want. Husqvarna will not give any advertising co-op for prices below the MAP.

I realize that but it has not been in the programs prior. Which is why I was wondering if their was going to be a change.

The internet deal doesnt sound right to me though.

It may be a new thing for the USA. We have had this policy in Canada for several years now. Although, Husqvarna is only sold by dealers in Canada. They had a brief go with TSC Stores last year but it didn't last.

What is your phone broke.

No my phone isn't broke. Callem Manual and see what they say, maybe, just maybe, I already know sometihng about it. Maybe I've known something for a few weeks Manual, maybe hell, hahaha no need for me to call, hehehehe

I reckon prices will be going up huh, maybe higher than Stihl, hmmmmmmm whatcha gonna do when MR. MONEY comes after you,:hmm3grin2orange: :hmm3grin2orange:

It would be real good for their dealers...

I hope that is the case.

From my past gig as a Snap-on Tool guy, I saw where our #2 competition (Mac) was transitioning their sales force from owner/franchisees to company-paid sales reps. The dealers and my sales manager all thought that was 'great news'... SO was pushing it's successful dealers to open up new routes with two trucks (hire or partner up with the 2d warm body)

We heard rumors that SO was planning to open some 'upscale' stores in certain markets (Vegas was one I recall) LOL a tool boutique set up like a jewelry store... No clue how that worked out. The dealers were VERY leery that might have been the foot in the door for the company to go "mass-market." They already had been selling a lesser line at Lowe's (Kobalt) as had Mac/Stanley (Husky) at HD

Then more recently, SO has opened up their own online sales catalog. Granted everything sold on the web is at 'full list' price, but the bulk of any warranty/repair transactions will be handled by the street dealers.

I find it a little troubling that the Husq would allow one online vendor (alongside their 'big-box' vendor) and disallow other smaller operations from doing it. Maybe it'll be a situation where online sales are allowed, but listed at MSRP Only (but the vendor could sell for less over the phone or directly?)

Somebody else did say that they are franchised. Not that all are qualified, but there are many that are. Some of the best shops happen to be an ACE. I am sure some of the worst shops could be too. It will just depend on the management.

To me it make no difference where you buy your saw as long as you like it.
We have a do-it center that sells huskys and services them. its a good shop.

It would be a good way for Husqvarna to give Stihl some serious competition again. It would be real good for their dealers. Some people might actually want to deal Husky, if they start treating the dealer right as does Stihl.

What the competition is not serious already ?
I don't get it. People don't boycott Chevy for treating there workers badly by making there engines in Mexico and other parts as well. Now think about it.
How many people have lost there jobs over that. talk about a raw deal.
I know Stilh dealers that down grade Husky for what they are doing to there dealers but yet turn around and drive off in there Chevy pick up.

It won't be long all we'll be able to buy is Chinese saws anyway, like everything else. I am not loyal to any name. Been thinking about a big Dolmar anyway.:D

Thats right I understand Stihl is already making parts in China.
What does this mean, I'll tell ya. Get the parts made for pennys and sell High.

That would be interesting.

OMG! What's going to happen to all of the "Stihl sucks because they're so expensive and only sold in dealerships, that's why I love the Husky I bought online and can't figure out how to tune," threads?

Jeff

See alot of threads on help me fix my Stihl.
What would happen to the train of thought. "You Pay more because you get More. "
