OK...thanks for all the chainsaw info...I'm going to show my age here...my first bike was a mini-bike which I got at age 14 sans engine and with a ruined rear drive bearing. I got it in trade for a fishing pole. The engine with a proper centrifigul clutch that came from my dads old reel motor (B&S) that would be 4 stroke. Mike White's machine shop (died 10 years ago) gave me a hell of a time with the brass bearing. He made me promise never to drive this on the road and after convincing him that I was only going to ride it in the horse corral he put a zirc fitting on it and at the end of the day he would not take a penny for his work. That was then.
Next was a Vespa...yeah a Vespa with a 3 speed on the handle...and the kick start from the seat...next was a Yamaha with electric start! 1962 model I think...it was a 250 road bike with saddle bags! Less that 300 imported that year if questionable memory serves. Then my brother and I paid for a Triuph 650 Bonneville that was never delivered (strike at the plant). After a few months we got our money back from the local Yamaha dealer and took the money to the Harley Shop in Yakima, WA. After test driving a 1970 AMF? Sportster we purchased a 350 Sprint. This was not a good plan. The thing had a 6 volt system, Del Orto carb and a lousy choke. The kick start was on the left side and I can still feel the pain of 50 to 70 lunges on the starter. But we kept coming back because when it finally started we could outrun a 450 Honda. Still the best handling 4-stroke bike I have ever ridden. Single cylinder wth dual pipes...it scraped the pegs more that once under braking and always popped back up. Now...about saws....
