You were here for some good weather. Now, can you handle day after day after day of drizzle? Like November is, and December, and on into July? Best to ponder that before making a big change. I've never lived on the Warshington coast, but down the coast in Oregon, you stay home on the nice days, caulking windows, cleaning gutters and demossing roofs so they'll hold up on the stormy days. The wind usually was blowing and the storms seemed to jar the windows loose, hence the caulking. Oh, the rain comes down at a more horizontal angle on the coast.
Summers are foggy, which I liked because it would be 80 up in the woods which is too hot and I'd return to temps in the 50s....Ahhhhhhh. Nice. That was Oregon.
The wind can be handled with a nice windbreak of some kind on the deck. Preferably where you can still get sunlight, on a sunny day.
You go inland, open your suitcase, and your clothes, even though they are clean, smell a bit like mildew. You won't notice it at home.
Plan to be damp. Even with raingear on, you will be damp. Buy a boot drier, you'll need it. Learn to like synthetics or wool.
That's all for now. Three people...make three move away. Kind of like, Bring Me A Shrubbery...
