Hi,trying to set carb with one of these idle is no problem but high revs it wont give me a steady reading.I have tried with and without the cable.The instructions I have mention using the mode and set buttons depending on engine type and cylinder number.Now in the instructions when you press the set button you should use the chart down below for your particular engine.When I press the set button I can only get 01,02,03 or 04.Can anyone help with this please or does anyone know of a video of "setting" this taco not just holding it beside the chainsaw.

I bought a Stihl tach years ago. Works perfect and not complicated at all. You can also tune it by ear when it goes into 4

Was it a cheap Aliexpress buy?

Well, theres the real deal- and there are knockoffs- its possibly a copy of the real thing in looks- but not in features nor menu pages.
Some nations do not care too much about patent, copyright, or any of that nonsense- are pretty good at making things look like the real thing and generally do not give a fat rats backside if the internals are up to spec or even close.
They rely on a want, the wanter wanting to get a "free lunch" and being that far under retail of the real thing that it seems too good to be true.
