Meh. I would assume with a cracked tank that you would be losing water into the firebox or out into some area. Doesn't sound right.
Couple things you can do.
1. Check water level. If it isn't down or no apparent leaks Doubt it's cracked or leaking.
2. Like what was said before a cheap infrared hand held thermo is needed. Check water temp leaving the boiler and going into the heat exchanger(which normally is located in the furnace ducting very close to furnace)
3. Low water temp could be a couple issues. If the temp is 180 coming out of the boiler but considerably lower at the furnace exchanger than it could be a couple issues. Bad circ pump, plugged exchanger, bad thermostatic valve if there is one on it, air pocket in lines, etc. If the temp is lower than 180 but still reading 180 at the boiler it could be a bad thermo disc(or similar product. Not sure what they run on that stove.) shutting it off too soon.
