Every single failure, that was claimed to be a mix related failure (by the operator) , that has come into my shop has either been an air leak, a straight gas, overheat due to dull chains or nasty fuel.
This..
I have had only one two stroke burn down on me and it was caused by detonation. It was also a fairly high strung large bore snowmobile cylinder that was succeptable to deto.
 
Had a few come to me in boxes or scored with the H screw all the way in or just off the seat.

I've killed a couple that way myself. Lost my 800 HO Skidoo this year due to an air leak in a carb boot. All the oil in the world (regardless of quality) isn't going to overcome bad fuel or an air leak.
