P62, Very nice P41. That was a great find! They look soooo nice with all the paint on them.

Lawrence, That's a nice 650. Like P62 said, I never seen that Pioneer chain decal before. If I were you I would take some close up pics with a ruler beside it. If you ever plan on restoring it you can have the decal duplicated.

Just an FYI theres a 1200A on e-bay under the buy it now only tab. They only want $30. They say it runs great. I would get it but I have too many to complete as it is.

Hi Fellas,Picked these two 650's up a few day's back, they were both attached to an Alaskan Jr mill.I know the recoil is shot on one of the saws, and clutch cover has a hole right through it on the other saw.Other than that I don't know much about them.I will have to start cleaning them up and see what's needed,Oh yea one of the saws also has a couple of cracks in the top cover.

Lawrence-

Good work, those are two enjoyable old saws. I see one has the name "Fournier" scratched into it. I cut timber with a Paul Fournier in the early 90's up around Sweethome, OR. He was a good cat with a very unusual sense of humor. Ask him about the time he put axle grease on the underneath of the door handle to my pickup, Or the time he spray-painted a hot pink stripe above the rim of my hardhat.

Pioneer p50 muffler

Arrowhead hi, Thanks for looking for the part, not quite despairaton stakes yet I`ll have to keep welding on patches `til I end up with more patch than muffler but if you do come across 1 I`d be extreemly grateful Al.

Little Al, I can not seem to find that muffler cover. I know I had an extra, but I searched all my boxes of parts and can't locate it. If I find it I will let you know. Does anyone else here have an outer muffler cover for a P50 to help him out?

Al I just got back from a long jaunt at work and opened up the parts box you sent. There is a P50 muffler cover in it. Maybe you sent it to the wrong guy. Anyways, I'd be happy to ship it to Little Al in France. Send me a P.M.

By the way, P62, nice P41S. If that's an original bar, it's got to be nearly perfect inside. It's a beautiful collector saw.

Lawrence, those 650's are great. You're into new territory now. Let me know how you like them.
Brendon.

Thanks

Thanks to all of you for your great replies concerning my new to me 650's.

That cover should have been for a P61. (front exit)

Lawrence-

The old boy I worked with was from Grand Forks. He was about 59-60 or so in 1994. He's out of cutting now, he carves totem poles and makes cabinetry. He was running a P-62 and a P-655 when I worked with him. He had one modern saw, a Husqvarna 272, and said it was plastic garbage.

Sorry, Ed. You're right... it is a front exit cover. I saw one of these on a Farmsaw once and it sure did make a mess of the right side with the exhaust trying to squeeze through the gap. Thanks for the parts, everything looks great!

Jacob, Little Al needs a side exit cover with the big hole.

Also, do you have a rear-exit muffler that you could spare? I'm looking for one right now.
