Very impressive pile of iron. Nice to know there are other collectors. Glad I live a long way away. I still have a chance.

Sounds like an accurate diagnosis. I didn't know that the Farmsaw coil could be used with the P50 flywheel.
If the saw had good compression I'd put on a new flywheel, coil and wire and make the ignition new again. It would be a powerful, reliable work saw.
I'm just wondering, has the case been opened up to accept the shouldered jug or is it a flat-bottomed jug?

The farmsaw coil is junk. The jug has a bottom shoulder and fits into the P50 base. doesn't appear to be modified. The cylinder has fins filed on the bottom to fit the opening. Next will be to build it up with spare parts and see if it will run.

P50

Here are a few photos of the P50. Reassembled the saw with p50 base and crank ,P60 piston, P62 cylinder, The flywheel and coil are from a P42. The saw runs excellent. Just needed new fuel lines, Response is very crisp with the throttle and lots of power. Idles greats as well. I got lucky. This saw is a keeper.

Busmech, you've been holding out on us! That's an incredible family of saws, worth a lot of money, too. Do they all run?

Sorry I didn't answer sooner, the Mrs. made me go to the big city with her. Yes they all run, or at least the last time I tried each one. The P40 and one P41 are a little tired but I have piston and rings for each just havn't found time. All of the yellow ones are good runners.
I bought my first P61 used about 1981 or 82, bought a new at the end of 82.
Cut timber with them till 1996, always picked up any used or used up I came accrossed. I have a Pioneer partner P45 on the way via ebay, Had to have one in my collection.

Jeff, Glad to see you got the P50 running.

awesum collection of saws

For those of you that have the 655bp's, is there a noticeable difference in power from the Pioneer P60/61/62? I noticed on Acres site that the P62 has higher rpm than the 60-61. Besides the boost port, are there any other major differences?

1073/1110

Hey folks, starting to get everything together for a rebuild on my Pioneer 1073, and was hoping somebody might have some service or repair manuals they could send me?

next in line for a rebuild is my 1110, so any manuals for that would be great aswell.

Thanks!

new p 62

well, not really too new. I actually got this about 2 years ago when I stoped by a saw shop and asked if he had any old saws out back.

he said lets go look.. we loaded 6 old saws in my rig and he said,,,, haul em off

been browsing this thread and started thinking I would like to have a P 62 in my set.

I knew I had a P 51 but never looked this other one over to see what it was.

had a smudged tag on it that said P 62 and 200 dollars.

I think the partner tag maybe threw me off too.

right place - right time that day I guess.

You never know what you will find in those back room junk piles, made more than a couple of good finds in similar situations. I am sure they could run with a little elbow grease.
