I just picked a VERY slightly used P28 and for whatever reason the chain guide plates were missing.Do any of you fellers know where a new or used set could be found?
Might have a pair at home on a parts saw. Will check when I get done work.
Sorry, no plates on my parts saw either. Is there a chance these are designed to run without plates? On the P-28 IPL, all I see is a bucking spike, PN 430441, that looks like it's optional, and probably fits the outside of the bar under the cover?
Experts - need some help here!

No bar plates on the small P series saws. . A 1073 has that silly sheet metal chain adjuster that looks like a bar plate but isn't.
Go cut wood
Got this off evilbay late last year. Just cleaned him up and serviced the recoil. Roller nose came off a 1073 carcass a guy gave me.
Spikes incorperated with the hand guard.
i picked this up to go on my P41 that had the pioneer bar sprocket tip break (3/8 X .058) i changed the sprocket tip to a 404 X ? and the rim to a 404 X 7 and picked this chain up to run on it. i hope it all works out and i am happy.

I would have stayed with the 3/8" chain for that saw , the 41 will pull the .404 ok but adds a lot more strain on the engine than the 3/8" would do. I remember well when all we had was .404 but was more than happy when the 3/8" became available.
if i come across a 3/8 sprocket i can always switch it back in 2 minutes. i could not find one from anywhere and nobody stepped up to offer one. i will say this the P41 pulls the 32" bar just fine so i am sure it will pull the 24" also it is a frankensaw so not really sure how many cc's it is.
Hi guys, I'm posting this here instead of the swapmeet to be sure I reach the right people.I'm needing a good coil for a Farmsaw and have some NOS Pioneer parts to trade including coils for other saws. Please PM me if you can help me out. Thanks, Dan

An electronic coil from a Homelite SXL-AO is the same and might be easier to find. . Very trouble prone.
