That’s a good idea. Seals ordered, be here tomorow. You should grind that crack out of that block then fill it with JB weld to keep it from cracking more, at least in that crack.

They are also real good at leaking between the cases and the reed block as well. A little bit of moto seal with the gasket will do pretty good. Great to here that you got a nice top end from Jeff. That’s a good idea. Seals ordered, be here tomorow.
Open gas cap to see if vacuum or pressure built upFirst cuts with the 1074. Thanks Pete for the parts. Air filter cover, new clutch shoes and a new chain.
I'm having trouble with it restarting hot ad you can see in the video. After I took this video I couldn't get it to restart at all. Anyone got ideas? It acts like my mac did when the duckbill was bad and it was vapor locking.
It looks great. Glad to hear you got it running. I think 150 was for a brand new saw, so at 140 your doing just fine.View attachment 633832 View attachment 633833 Got the p41 together. First top end I’ve done. Went together ok I think. Fired right up and seems to run ok. Still need to tune it tho. Compression is at 140 on all good used parts from jeff. What was compression new? 150?
What’s initial setttings with a Wally carb?It looks great. Glad to hear you got it running. I think 150 was for a brand new saw, so at 140 your doing just fine.
Try one out on the low and one and a quarter on the high to start out. That should get you pretty close. Is it a sdc 53?What’s initial setttings with a Wally carb?
Usually sdc 53 or if you got lucky a sdc 80. If it has a brass plug by where the choke linkage hooks up its probably a sdc 53. Either way it's a better carb then what they came stock with. Stock was a tilly hs147d.Hmm. I think it’s a sdc 79. Sounds possible ?
Yep that one. It's a governor that would probably be best if bypassed. Take it out and cut a soda can to the same size of the end of the governor . Put the piece you made down in the hole, and then reinstall the governor.Like this brass plug ?
Sounds good. Thanks.Yep that one. It's a governor that would probably be best if bypassed. Take it out and cut a soda can to the same size of the end of the governor . Put the piece you made down in the hole, and then reinstall the governor.
Thank you Paul. Have you had a chance to mess with any saws lately?
