Nice 410 Brian.
Thx Tim, that Saw was a basket case a couple years ago Jeff dropped it off to me to use for parts . As you can see l got carried away.
Nice 410 Brian.
l am working on a Model HM saw at the moment and it has a copper cyl gasket. l have no new head gaskets here, and would like to get the saw back together. Anyone have bad expierences reusing the old one? Or should l find a new head gasket.
Yeah, if you do manage to find the plastic reed I would be grateful to have it. failing that i'll make on. Haven't found the material stock yet. Amazon has 1/8" stock but its a bit thick. if all else fails I will go that route. I also found a spring that more closely matches the original. You are doing a nice job from what l can see. and l am exited to see you finish. l to have a HM project l have started and not completed . l am at the stage you are.
l will look here for the 470136 plastic reed you need . l am not sure whether you are or have already made one yet, but be glad to share one with you if l find one.

Your HM looks good! I made a bunch more progress on the weekend, cleaning up the fasteners and rebuilding the carb.
As for the head gaskets, I've honestly always just retorqued the head back on and not had an issue, yes I know its definitely not correct, but no leaks yet. This one I might try the torch trick.
hi all, I am officially obsessed with this thread I love my pioneers.
Does anyone have a solution for changing a points coil over to electronic on a P21?
I've gone through 2 coils and it's my favorite saw.. I'd like to get it running again without having to deal with the points and condenser.
thanks!!
l may be able to help you with a new Oem coil if you chose to install one.
thanks Beavers. Here is a option for you to replace the points and condenser on saw. You should be able to find them online if decde to go that way.
hey thanks buddy. I have run the heck out of this saw cutting firewood for years, probably quite likely some gunk has creeped into the points. I see you on here a lot, you're very knowledgeable and give great advice.Condenser on a saw that old is a very likely culprit but the points contacts must be thoroughly clean and polished plus dry to work correctly. Polishing points contacts has gotten more saws and other machines running for me over the years.
Nice looking saw Brian,i'm impressed with the paint job.is the paint available in spray cans?I have the HC model which i'm trying to bring back to life but is lacking in the spark department.(very weak). think it's a condenser problem but haven't had any luck tracking one down.Any ideas?Update Pics here on my HM project. Got my fuel system done. Only year and model the HP carb was availiable, its not my favorite carb. l still need to get a metering diaphram and gasket from Joe S before it s complete. l still need to diagnose & test the coil output and condenser.
This is as far as l got for now .

Possibly the rubber bumpers on top of the airshield have shrunken, the two covers should be virtually the same.I picked up a few saws today from a guy in Quebec who buys estates. I have picked up some from him before. This time he had a few Pioneers ,Homelites and one mac. I took two View attachment 905119View attachment 905120Pioneers, a 600 in very good shape but missing foot and another holiday 11. He also threw in a Homelite. It was red, green and blue. I hae not checked it out yet. He also had another 600 not as good shape as the one I took and a nice 650 but I already have one. He had five more he said he could show me but I passed bacause my emergency funds in back of my wallet are getting low. These are the pictures he mailed me better ones tomorrow. Just got home. Rained all day. Took the saws from car. Top cover on 600 saw seems loose Started to do a thorough check and cleanup and found out the saw is a 610 with a 600 cover on top. Will try to find the difference between the two.View attachment 905121
