This show is a family show. Anyone that has shown he can't get along at a family event should save his gasoline and not drive here. Save yourself the trouble. The event will be patrolled by police officers. I am not charging any entry fee for competing here. I will exclude anyone at my discretion. Mike

Mike does that mean the show is fixed before it even gets started? We all know you are a retired Highway Patrolman so I guess the fuzz will be there. I can only look back and reflect on the wonderful conversations I had with your brother John one can look forward to a family event.

Well Mike thanks for your email i would love to attend but the 7000 mile swim with my saw in tow wouldn't be to bad but once back on land i'd be lost as i don't know my way around your fair country as regards being bothered by a few Stihls or Westbends i would apply my indicator and just pass them.

Seriously though i would love to attend and see the faces behind all the names drink a little beer and make a few friends as the last couple i flogged wouldn't talk and didn't for more than 8 years to me, i must be such a lovable fella.

Anyway may the best man win and have fun.

Mc Bob.

Mike, never mind the bluffing about having the cops there to keep the Toadies away. Just get a cutout of a police cruiser and put it at the end of the driveway. Like the one I took a picture of in the Yukon.
Ken Dunn, said he'll be showing up with Fales, Cahoon and Harvey at about 11AM, but make sure you have a bar and chain for Ken so he doesn't go home early! Meat Loaf and Paul Smith should be showing up as well with their Macs. Will you be running the Kawasaki this year Mike? Have a good time and keep that burn barrel going.
John

Wifey is in the shower, got a neighbor kid to take care of my animals, and a truckload of vicodin to keep my back off my back for the seven hour road trip! Looking forward to meeting everybody. Jared

Jared you won't get a chance to meet everyone since Mike called a few members here and asked them not to show. It's to bad not everyone was not welcome. Sorry to hear you got the call MacDaddy.

The saws will be limited to gasoline only. AS members welcome. Only $5 to attend or participate in events. Food and drink on premises. Mike Rupley 530 677-2842

Good news I understand the entry fee was waved.

The Wife and I made it back safely and just want to say we had a great time. I got to run one of Mike's Macs in the competition, play twenty questions with Art Martin (great guy) aka chain building 101, and meet a bunch of AS guys. The Rupleys went to great lengths to show Ali and I a good time from a free steak dinner to an umbrella for my pregnant wife in the 102 plus degree heat. I must say I'm hooked and looking forward to competing with my own saw in the near future. I want to try the axe- throw also. I took a ton of pics and videos and will share them here shortly as I figure it out. Any guesses on whose chains were on the winning saws?

hey rupedoggy, i was hoping you were going to post the times. do you still have the timesheets from the events?

im not sure what it was.. but that stuff was HARD! the hotsaw log was around 24"
for a while during the hotsaw cut i wasnt sure if the 24" bar on my 288 was going to make the cut! my times are pretty darn good for a woods saw that went against true race saws. i did my best and will be back for more thats for sure! win or not its one wild learning experiance, and not to mention HUGE adreniline rush to compete like this! after my hotsaw cut i couldnt hold my hands steady for anything! i love my adreniline!

It was ponderosa pine that had been drying out all Summer. We made one cut. The crosscut saws were in about 12" round. A stock 026 with stock chain, cut the same wood in 14 point something seconds, after the hand saws were finished. Mike
