From what I've heard everybody is allergic to PI it is just a matter of time before you get it. For me, I used to get it terribly bad when I was younger and have was on steroids numerous times. Now I rarely get it at all and when I do it is not that bad. First, do not scratch it, rumors say that scratching spreads the rash, I do not believe that but I do know that it irritates it a lot more. For some home remedies: Pour extremely hot water on it and then soothe the burns with vitamin e to help reduce scaring, a little too intense for me; When PI first starts to sprout leaves pick some of them, whip-up a PB and J toss them in and eat it. This came from a crazy, awesome old guy I know who founded Bunce Electronics maybe some of you have heard of them. Still a little too extreme for me, I like to be able to breath. Lastly, my own, when in the field and you feel the itch rub dirt on it, it may be psychological, but it works for me. When you know you have PI take a lot of salt and a little bit of water and make a paste out of it, spread it over the rash and let the past dry then brush off the salt. Do this a couple times a day and it will dry the PI rash out. This solution has worked wonders for me. Bottom line is DO NOT SCRATCH, it's like poking a bees nest with a stick it is only going to make it more pissed off.
