That's even running a 7 pin is it? hate to see it with an 8pin lol.. But to be true it is a 1st for me in a long time to see the dogs touch wood in a saw vid and in this chase =bog! guess that's why they hold the saw back pulling max rpm with dogs off wood in most vids?...Lean sounds about right to me and that's fat! maybe a little cold its well on the safe side that's for sure, soon as load comes off she be 4Ting....Try holding the dogs off the wood bet the saw is a totally different animal

If you are referring to me, yes a 7 pin in all videos. Learning to use the dogs and not bog the saw down is something I am working on as well. Fortunately chainsaws etc are just a hobby for me. Most of my chainsaw learnin has come from here or youtube.

I do most of my cutting with two kids waiting in back of the truck so I tend to use the dogs and try to get the cutting done as quickly as possible (so I can let the kids on the ground to play). Larger saws and sharp chains are "for the children" at least that is what I tell my wife.

Is all good don't sweat the small stuff chain cuts fine to me... It is aggressive but I don't see no jumping about crazy aggressive chain like in MM's vid that some are making out your chain is like lol. Ya doing good mate just feather the saw more you will get the feel for it like pull back way slower let the saw tell you what it can and cant do a bit like a woman get to bossy its all over lol...Sure the vids look cool on You_tube when they jump off from way up on the 3rd floor and hit the log with the saw at WOT to cut a cookie! no one actually does that working a saw to cut firewood true story lol... As you say your there to cut firewood and get home what's wrong with that nothing... There is a hornets nest here but that's only to do with a ported saw bogged and that's impossible apparently not my words just saying 7pin and all so of course this will go on forever and then some.....:chainsaw:
We are all entitled to our opinions, I get that ........... but if these are not your words, then who's are they ?
You wrote them, didn't you ?

Seems the OP already confirmed an overly aggressive chain, a potentially out of tune adjustment on the carb, and it seems you are the one who is dragging this out by writing posts like this.
If the OP would have been running a good chain, and the saw was bogging, and he re-tuned it properly for his use ..................
then ----- and ONLY then, would I attempt a post suggesting that he PM Brad, but definitely NOT phrased as you did. As it sits, the OP is going to re-tune the saw and put on a good chain, then go cut some more ................. if at that point the OP still isn't happy with his ported 460, that's between him and Brad.

Is there some history between you and Brad that might be getting dragged back up ?

My intent was never to blame Brad. I have been very happy with the saw. I was simply trying to give credit/show videos of what I thought was a good running saw and relevant to the OP. Trust me, its the Indian (me) not the arrow (saw).

I have posted other videos of the same saw with a new chains and only received positive comments.

Sorry to derail the OPs thread. ....

Ya lost me? No disrespect to brad or his work where did I say this? brad is one the good guys get off me back dude your kind of making stuff up ..True I may not have worded It right this will be one of them confusing threads its about a chain but there is a ported saw involved nuff said this will go on forever lol ..True as I sit here I wrote them there words k? now would you like me to link you to a google search of the endless I can't bog my ported chainsaw? that's where I got that from? I don't get what or why the words your trying to put in my mouth? I said saw seem's ok to me a little fat was that bad? I don't get it?

I have not put any words in your mouth, or made up anything, I just quoted your post and responded

That's NOT all you said ,.............. lump it all together and I have a picture of what you are painting.
You also said;
1. Chain cuts fine (it sure does, it is just taking too much of a bite with low rakers)
2. You don't see no jumping about aggressive chain like MM (it don't have to wiggle and jump like in MM video to be too aggressive for a saw)
3. That some are making out your chain is like (I am the one who called it, and I stand by my call, you are directly and snidely making crass remarks about my post)
4. There is a hornets nest here but that's only to do with a ported saw bogged and that's impossible apparently not my words just saying 7pin and all
(This one for me reminds me of some of the she-iit stirrers that have been posting recently, and in the past. There is no reason to say its not your words when you write them and then comment about a 7 pin and all .............. unless you desire a reaction from someone.)

5. the saw was definitely not running rich

And you want me to get off your back ??:dizzy:

OK, I will, but don't come in after the game and decide to tell us how we should have called the play. I am trying to help this situation, and you go the exact opposite way. You are entitled to that, but expect a reaction

or
Choose your post content more carefully so there is no misunderstandings

I certainly never thought it that way, and after rogue60 clarified his responses, I don't think anyone saw it as you were blaming the builder/porter.

Wow, is thread has certainly jumped off topic...

I still havent decided which direction I want to go yet. I'd like to get e 28" bar on the 460 and see how it runs, and then make a decision on the 066. Seems like the 460 is a pretty impressive saw stock, even more so modded, so I need to spend a little more time in the trees before I make a decision.
