What is the purpose of the step in the exhaust port? I've seen "anti reversion" steps in some four stroke exhaust ports but not two strokes.
I would set the squish between .017"-.020".

The Googles say 98dl of 3/8 on a 30" Stihl bar. Couldn't find info on gbNot trying to derail this thread, but does anyone know off hand what the DL count is for a 30" Stihl mount GB professional pro top 3/8 with 8 tooth for a 660.
Thanks

Yes
98 exhaust is fine. I shoot for 98-100.
I don't like that much blowdown on a 372. Take them up to 118-120.
Thanks for chiming in, you saved me from counting two or three times.Pretty sure 98 is correct. Glad to see you’re still kicking.

Plus 2c here now with 2mm of fresh snow.
Just as a general procedure, after warming up the saw, retorque head bolts and muffler.I pulled the cylinder off, cleaned off the dirko.
Does this sound right?
1. Put cylinder on the piston without rings
2. dialed in the degree wheel
3. put the saw at BDC
4. removed cylinder
5. Put ring in the bore
6. Turn the flywheel to 118 degrees
7. Remove cylinder
8. pencil a line on the bottom of the ring
9. Raise transfer to this line
