black powder splitter

anyone got any more videos/info on the black powder splitter? ive heard a bit about them and once saw one for sale in a second hand shop (the shop may have had more than two owners) (im pretty sure the splitter would have worked its way through plenty more!!!) and wondered what they were like. father in law has muzzle loaders etc and works at a fort where they fire the cannons regularly, weve spoken of them, the splitters, that is, on occasion. i often think its the only other option to split Karri other than the 120 ton splitter advertised on the CL thread!!! not sure id like to be the guy setting it tho!!! i think most were home made years back. were they sold ready made or just a crazy shed/farm contraption?
the guys splitting the big logs with powder are off their heads, pretty much turning a big log in to a frag grenade!!! good to watch. on video. cringing.
