So, I saw this somewhere but can't find it now. My saw has the automatic oilerthat works off crankcase pressure. The orifice or whatever was in the hole where the oil comes out is gone. I think it disintegrated over time and when tried to open the hole up again I ended up pushing the whole into the tank. It washed out with some gas and just fell apart. Any how, I think I have afix in mind BUT, I have a question. Is there supposed to be a hose in the tank?

Probably not a hose but a special rubber fixture that mounts to the tank and interfaces with the bar mount plate.

It is just a simple hose, see attached link for item 21 on page 9, but post a request for a new oil valve assembly #530069142 in the ‘Nik’s Poulan Thread’ sticky thread section as your old duckbill is probably turned to goo & that’s why they quit oiling.

There’s no orifice in the hole in the oiler pad, just the end of the hose that’s trimmed off flush.

A member @ToddLoosli had custom made/machined some of the valve replacements for them a while back, & they worked very well. He may still have one for sale.

The answer of course, is "YES". And the hose had turned to "goo". I slipped a pice of 1/8 inch OD fuel hose approximately 4" long into a piece of 3/32:OD hose approximately 1/4" long and worked that into to oiler hole. The seems to work great. Significant oil flow at speed, minimal at idle. I'm going to test it this afternoon on an actual tree. The line came from an Arnold 490-240-0008 fuel line variety pack.
