Nice job.As far as making it sexier though,I just would have just slapped a Jonsered sticker on it and walked away.:msp_w00t:

Damn, that's cheaper than a Pro-Safety full wrap!

i used to watch ebay daily trying to find tanks ,wraps etc ,i was shocked when went to my dealer in town ,think a new 460 tank was 110 or 130 and the bars i can get cheaper there than the internet due to shipping costs ,ive seen the tanks go 160-200 sometimes for a 440 or 460 ,and used ones going over 100 most of the time

Goodmorning from New Zealand. Has anyone tried this on a Stihl 084? And what is the diffidence between large and small spiked dogs...type of trees your sawing or something?

the porpose of the bigger dogs is to hold the saw when falling a tree kind of like a guide ,the deeper barked trees around here ,they are nice to grip the tree better than the shorter ones ,also when bucking logs can stick them in the tree to hold the saw for you ,take the weight of the saw off your back

Looks great ...I just put the same kit on my 441 and did my first muf mod turned out great . Just sent it tomastermind today to get it Woods ported

"Make a MS460 sexier!"

I'm sorry, but I just do not want anything sexually to do with a chainsaw. Frankly the idea scares the hell out of me.

Not that a 460 needs sexing up, but you did a good job. Except for the short #### (uh, I mean bar). Slap at least a 25-incher on there and let the 460 be what a 460 is. :)

To answer a few posts.
Someone has already messaged me and made arangments to purchase the spikes.

Yes this has a tank guard on it.

Painting it all orange would turn a MANS saw into a little girl's play thing :D

I know this saw is MUCH more than capable of pulling a larger bar. I usually keep the 20" with an 8 pin on this saw, and a 25" with an 8 pin on my 066. I just like the way this saw handles and rips with this bar on it.

I agree, if you are being charged $150 for this handle, find a new dealer.

Thanks for the info for the complete cover with dogs and catcher. If I need to order another in the future, I'll be sure to use this.

Figured that's what you were up to. :)

I got a price on that a few years ago, it was around $80 or so. Not sure if that's gone up or down now.

our saw shop here stocks the oversize cover only for around 50 and i think around 80 with chip flap ,dog and roller catcher

Hello all, newb here just wanted to put my 2 cents in. I wish that I would have had those p/n for the side cover n wrap handle a week ago. Ordered everything all together was around 200 with my buddy letting me have the parts at cost! :msp_sneaky: Wanted to add this though cause I saw someone asking about d.p. Mufflers. Stihl d.p. cover is p/n is 1128 140 0801. Got that from my buddy Madhatte! That 460 looks great, im looking forward to posting some pics of my 440 makeover when I figure out how

Thanks for the comments guys....

Raganr: I don't know if you can see from the pic, but that's the Baliey's DP muffler on this saw. Just a warning, the paint will blister off, and it will start to rust pretty quickly. I still have the stock muffler, I think I'm going to order the Stihl DP cover. It's a much nicer piece.

high temp header paint will make it look new and stay new longer

So looking at those $$ it would be cheaper to by an R model right... thats if you were buying a new saw of course.
