Buying a new lot of saws, and am wondering if anyone would care to chime in on the latest build qualities of both stihl and husky. I've ran all husky with the exception of the 200T. 395 372 346 338T 334T. I put in an order for a new 395, 372, 346, 201T. I ran a 575 the oter day though, and was NOT immpressed. Made me think that the newer saws may not have the sack of the same models of older year manufacture dates. Thoughts?

I have been tooling around with the idea of trying the big Jonsred, have talked to a couple guys who where long time German saws only, but now swear by Jonsred, they have a sealed air system and a supercharger! Not a real one, but the way the air system works, it gives the saw a boost when in high RPM's. As far as their small saws, I have no clue. I have no beef with husky, just don't like the feel when I pick them up, way to heavy, their medium saw is heavier than my 650

Can't go wrong with stihls in my eyes! I love my 460, I think it is the greatest saw ever built (though that can be argued endlessly). It's powerful enough to pull a 36" bar when needed and light enough to use as your daily ground saw. Though I have little experience with husky, there really isn't a decent husky dealer within a hundred miles of me.

Have you ever tried the husky 576? I really want to try it, seems like some cool technology in there. I have read the 575 was a piece of crap and the 576 fixed a lot of it's glitches. I would like to hear from someone who has tried one though.

The 395, 372 and 346 are all tough, proven saw designs. I really enjoy my 372's and have a 395 that I'm gonna sell shortly. 201T looks to have many similarities to the 200T, so let's hope it performs the same.

Stihl and Husky are really building some top notch saws, and a lot of new technology is being introduced. Stihl and Husqvarna have automatic tuned saw models, which supposedly run at optimal performance at all times. Husqvarna is coming out with a brand new 60cc class saw (562xp) next week that is being reported as a revolutionary saw in terms of performance and handling/weight. Overall, you can't really go wrong with what you ordered, they should last for years with proper maintenance.

All Jonsered's are just huskies in red. Nothing is different besides the plastics and covers.

A lot of Huskies are lighter than Stihls. A 390xp is comparable to your 650 and weighs less. The 346xp weighs less than the new ms261 too.

We have a ms261 at work and it just rips for a 50cc saw. It is kinda heavy though, but the anti-vibe and smooth motor make up for it in my eyes.

I was forced to "upgrade" this summer. One saw was run over one mysteriously vanished from a job site. So I am running all new saws, with a few older ones. 2 200t's 2 Ms 441's and 1 Ms 310. The 200's rock, just a little loud after removing the arrestor. I cannot say enough about the 441 vs. the 576! The Husky 576 is a GD joke in my opinion. My Ms 441 ate that pos up in seconds. I see the 372 back on the shelves, and will be getting another before they're gone. I do not have much use here for a bigger saw, but would like to have something for that once in a while tree. I think my next purchase will be the Ms 200 rear handle. The 200T lights em up so I think it would make a decent groundie saw as well.

Any luck with Mr. $175,000 Westford guy? I've been Eyeing that truck for months.:msp_sneaky:

Looks like you have it covered .
But my opinion would be the Stihl climbing saws are the most used so buy them first.

I would think it best to buy the same thing you like the most so parts interchange too many different models is a pain. Also i would like to hear about the MS201 t v the MS 200t?

LOL, did I tell you I sent him an email trying to buy the 4x4 int bucket? #### never even wrote me back. He's farkin high if he thinks someone is going to give extra for his "business" over whatever the equipment is worth, and the lot sure isn't worth 175K.

I own all the saws I just reordered except for the 201, I was just thinking after running the 576 (not 575) as I previously stated, that maybe emissions or something took the sack out of them cuz that saw SUCKS. I adore the 372. Maybe I'll switch things up a bit and go stihl this time around though.

Stihl 440 and 460 real good man last forever.

I ran the 201T, and it cuts very well, but feels more like the 192T than a 200T. Dunno, time will tell when I really get after it cutting wood. First impression wasn't stellar, but it is a nice saw.

I have an ht 131 it starts one pull most of the time. What saws you considering?

It starts just fine, but breaking the tubes down for storage and trying to get them back together again is the absolute worst. I launched the thing across a yard one day out of frustration.

395, 372, 346, 201T OR 660, 460, 362, 201T That's what I'm trying to work out now.....

your chosen climber
stihl pole saw
husky 346xp
stihl 460 magnum
stihl 660 magnum
husky 3120xp
those are the only saws i would consider buying new, never hurts to watch the pawn shops for cheap little huskys for the new guys to learn on, theyre inertia activated chain break trumps stihls without question and the little huskys rip way better then little stihls

Perfect line up on both sides I like the Stihls to me they are srtonger last longer and easier to work on.Huskys are fast but break more.Sounds like you should go with Stihl because you are getting an HT131 pole pruner and we both know who makes the best climbing saw so there you go.Forget about the 362and get a 440 or just take the 362 out of your line up add the 440 and you will have a hell of a collection. And damn man keep a watch on those new saws!

I bought a 395, 372, 200T used, I bought the 346 new. I had good luck with all of them. But I want to change them out this year with new. You think the 346 is a better saw than the 362? The 346 looks to be a bit lighter..
