Do you mean this kind of info?
Model Profile: Pro 88

I posted some info on this saw on page 3 or 4 of this thread.

I printed Mike Acres information first thing.

Thanks for posting the sales literature. There is nothing on a Remy Pro 88 anywhere else.

I been studying it to see how to get it apart. Looks like four bolts w/flange nuts hold the engine to the bar mount/chassis/tanks. Yucky phillips screws.

Pro 88, more trouble.

Looks like this is why the spark is weak.

Getting no love from him. Hope the red/white Logmaster type Mark H. has left can supply a good mag.

Garage clean up and re-arrange hit full throttle today with the delivery of a 10 cu. yard hopper.

I've salvaged much worse coils than that.don't give up on that one yet.

I think the air filters are the same size and the cover that holds it in.
The clutch cover is a lot different. May be hard to find one.

sawdust21: U R right, the 75A clutch cover fits the Pro 88 and looks nearly correct. They do have different part numbers but, I don't care if it works.

When I get it pulled apart I'll visit an electric motor shop here in town. Have them bake and dip the coil.

Remington SL-9A

So are the SL-9A's the saw from the devil or what? It seems a lot of people have problems with them.

And I guess it is my turn. My freshly rebuilt SL-9A has been together for a while, and the other day I decided to get it running and tune it.

Started right up with a few pulls, I set the high speed adjustment, and started to set the low speed and idle, and it began to cut out. Started it back up, and it wouldn't stay running. Cracked open the gas cap, and it ran a little better. I then looked inside and it apears the gas in the tank was boiling.

So, I'm thinking there are a few possible problems. 1st is the "boiling" gas caused by a leak in the gas line feeding back through, or is the gas actually vaporizing due to the heat from the saw running for maybe 5 minutes?

I'm assuming the saw began to cut out because it was getting vapor locked. So that would mean the infamous brass tank vent is bad.

I'm out of ideas of what to do with this saw. I had problems getting dirt in the carb before, so I replaced gas line and filter. I will open up the carb again and check for more dirt.

All thoughts and Ideas would be awesome.

Thanks
Dustin

I suggest digging the guts out of the brass tank vent and drilling it for the small Homelite duckbill.

See page 51, post #759 of this thread.

I did one that way, may just do the rest of my Remys.

Looks good. I have one of those waiting in line to get rebuilt. Is that red air filter cover stock color? I believe mine is the white like the rest of the saw. Or come to think of it, it might be a brown plastic.

Model Profile: Bantam

They are shown as brown there as well. I have heard that the carb kits are had to come by for this saw. Did you have any problems finding one?

This is the way I received it. Red flywheel cover and top, although my other two are off white and brown.

The carb kits are a pain to find but in between all my parts saws, this carb looks new inside.

Mark: If you still have it, look for the mfgr. tag on the red/white Logmaster and see what the model number is. It can possibly provide parts for the Pro 88 you left in River City.

Carl.

Remingtons are on the top shelf.
