Hello all, I just got a free saw this past Sunday and from what I can tell it is a Remington MM200 like the one in the link, except yellow. Does anyone have a manual for this saw? Looking to get it running and just need some info on. The oiler line going to the bar is rotted off and will have to be replaced. Any help or direction is greatly appreciated. I dida search on the MM200 here and didn't come up with anything.

Check your PM inbox.

The Yardmaster types have a pezz poor chain oiler setup. Once started and run, the oil syphons out of the tank. No shut off valve. Some had the throttle rod pinch down on the oil line to control flow.

The 'air filter' is a sad joke.

My advice is to return it to the shed and forget about it.

Thanks 67L36Driver. The saw was in a case and looked brand new. I got it for free and have never tore a saw down before. Looking for something to learn on so I figured this was a perfect fit.

You buy that?

I have two Super 75A that I got locally.

No. My hobby/mad money is seriously limited. My last purchase, a used Makita DCS-6421, pretty much put me in the hole for a while. Any saw(s) or parts I buy will most likely be from CL and the deal would need to be sweet, or very fair for the right saw (yeah, right, wish me luck with either !). I'd have to find a serious "sleeper" deal on eBay.

Good CL deals are rare around here. Finding deals on eBay are even rarer. Thanks to the internet, and the info posted on sites such as AS, even re-badged saws are becoming "hot."

When I joined AS back in '04 very few people gave Craftsman saws a first look, much less a second look, and the same applies to Montgomery Ward saws. Nearly all "plastic" Poulan saws were pretty much considered to be junk. Very few people knew about re-badged saws.

With very few exceptions, those days are long gone, esp. on eBay. For example, Dayton (Poulan) saws are bringing almost as much money as the Poulan models. The larger Montgomery Ward (Remington) saws are no longer "sleepers."

OK, I'll stop ranting and preaching to the choir.

Believe it or not I found a NOS needle and seat for the Carter ND carb on the Super 75GB. It now runs like it should I guess. At least it stays running when you try to cut with it.

The Carter carb is kind of weird with one of the fuel pump check valves built into the needles seat.

I also got real frustrated at the stupid setup Remington used for removing the spark plug on this saw. Really stupid..

I made a thin wrench to try to remove the plug but all it did was bend the wrench open.

I finally broke the insulator off the plug so I could get a shallow socket on it to get it out. I then used a shorty plug of the same heat range and made a socket out of a old scrench and can now remove or replace the plug without much trouble.
