No big deal, I wouldnt have pointed it to you if I didn't want you to have a shot at it first!!

Besides I got to get this other Remington going right before I shoot it. :ices_rofl: Wonder why Remington thought it was a good idea to contract with Carter for carbs for these things..

Got the original bow sent out this week for repair so I can give Chris his loaner bow back.. 100_9576 (Custom).JPG

This was listed in chainsaw parts: http://www.ebay.com/itm/131712114530?_trksid=p2060353.m2749.l2649&ssPageName=STRK:MEBIDX:IT

Modified Mark alerted me to it or it would have gone no bids at all. Yikes.

Another 82cc Remy added to the pile for just twenty bux.

It looks as though I need to adjust & expand my eBay searches to include parts. That one slipped by me & I check Remington saws on eBay just about every day. Apparently limiting my searches to exclude "a bunch of crap" isn't always a good idea :omg:.

Thanks you, and Mark, for the eye-opening info.

Nice find Mark. That much Remington paint may be worth more than the saw.

Mentioning Remington chainsaws and paint....

This is a very clean SL-11, but the seller has it priced way too high.

The paint on my very clean SL-11 (which was shipped by dumping it in a box with very little padding with the bar bouncing around loose ) is a bit odd. It doesn't flake like there isn't enough paint, it actually peels like there is too much paint that never cured properly.

SL-55 hit my porch today.

Pops on a prime.

Guide bar almost jumped ship.

Got it running sort of.

Carl, nice score! You and Modifiedmark make a good team ;).

That SL-55 with all the missing paint is a prime example of why many folks look at vintage Remington saws and assume they're "trashed."

I hate it when sellers cram the bar into a box that is already to small to safely ship the saw, i.e. no room for adequate padding. I've had a couple of box arrive where the bar tore through the box, and a couple where the bar went missing. One seller got really indignant when I asked for a replacement bar or a partial refund; the thing is he used a carboard box that was worn out and sagging (kind of like me ).

The 16" hard nose would have been no loss. It cut to the right. Needs dressed real bad.
I had an old Oregon 24" that fit.

Big surprise is, the oiler works correctly. Two turns out on the flow adjustment screw.

Replaced the Bosch WSR6F plug with a Champ CJ8Y. Starts easier and runs better.
This thing will provide parts to restore my second John Deere 23.
