Just wondering if anyone makes a roller file guide gor 3/8 oregon 72lg, I bought one today made my husqvarna but I think its made lv or lp chain. Thanks in advance for suggestions.

Thanks Ben, I will try to find one in town. I did a search and did not come up with much. I will check around for the oregon brand.

The Husky/E-lux 3/8" roller guide is designed for 73 LP (H 42, S 42), but should fit all Oregon/Husky/Jonsered 3/8" chain with the same cutter height and angles as 73LP, in .058 and .050.
For use on .063 you may have to modify it slightly, by opening the slots that fit over the chain.

I bought a husky roller guide a while back and it seems to get my 3/8" oregon LG decently sharp,

However my question is: I just got a catalog from a commercial cutter's outfit, and it shows the husky roller guides, and it lists two different ones for 3/8 chain, one for 70 series chain and the other for 91 series chain??? I took a look at the roller guide that I have and it has a 91 stamped into the bottom of it, so I would assume I have a guide meant for the 91 series 3/8" low profile chain?????? I think the donkey at the dealer sold me the wrong roller guide, when using it with the 7/32 file (proper size for normal 3/8 chain) it seems to get the chain really quite sharp to the feel, haven't done any close inspection of angles or anything... I would have to assume since they make 2 different roller guides that I should buy the correct one for use on my 3/8 72 LG?

Yep, looks like you got the wrong one. If yours is meant for 3/8 lo-pro, i'm surprised you're not having a hard time putting the guide on the chain. I would think it is also making your sideplate hook incorrect.

Doinggggggg. Maybe I just found out why I'm having such a hard time figuring out how to get my roller guide on my chain.

I figured I had the wrong one, my chain does not have the bump tie strap as a low vibe chain would. Any one have a brand and part number of one that would work for a 72LG.

Husky part number (or "Art no." as on my card it came on) "505 69 81-12", the UPC is "391883 000793"

The guide itself is blue and is stamped on the bottom " 3/8" ", the card says it's for S41 LV (73 LP), S46 (72LP), S42 (73 LP-VL).

I also have one that's black and stamped " 91 SG ", card says 91 SG, (S43), 91 S; "Art no. 505 69 81-14", UPC 391736 003797

"Low wibe chain" has nothing to do with bumper (safety) drive links, even though some chains has both features.

That is the one I mentioned in an earlier post. I think that it will fit 70-series LG chain as well as LP.

Since the post above, I picked up a new one at my Husky dealer, as the old one I had at home has been modified to fit Stihl chain.
The description fits what Glens stated exactly, which means that the chains models listed on the cardboard was Oregon and Jred numbers, not Husky numbers.
Quite odd, as the cardboard is labelled "Husqvarna", and it will of course fit Husky labeled chain as well.
