eh
i learnt to climb on a split tail / prussic loop system, we had to be able to demonstrate that we could tie in traditionally but why do we need to????? tieing in contantly like that takes time, time better spent climbing and getting used to teh equipment, if the rope dont have splices, tie a bowline, double figureof 8 but use a split tail.....trusting the gear also comes from climbing i find......if i spent all my time retieing i would climb very slowly and not have the oppertunity to swing around and learn what happens when i swing around....
anyway
i feel that trusting the gear also comes from climbing, not just tieing knots
