I got this this little Makita running, It needed another P/C, fuel & impulse line, It's a nice little saw light and powerful for It's size

wow that's a rare one... red makita! that must have been a early 90's saw as makita was just taking over. I just finished my blue makita 341 last night. Stong little bugger and kinda funny how they put the recoil behind the flywheel to save some space on the saw! My next project will be a dcs401 or a dcs34... Maybe have all three ready for the Iowa GTG 40cc race!

Finally got my chains and sprockets. I'll try to get a few pics of the new to me 152 with it's new Carlton and .404 skip.

Also put the little tweaked full wrap on my favorite 143, put one of them 33" with .404 skip on it with a 7 pin.

That 143 is one of the hardest saws I've ever pulled over. It has just as much finger hurtin' compression as my buds 125 CP!

Yep! a decomp on my 143 would be nice

I'll be putting one together here soon with a decompression valve.

It's going to need it too, the 55mm piston I found has a quite pronounced dome!

I picked up a 343 cut-off saw, it came with de-comp. That jug with a new piston/rings will be going on one of the 133s I have.

I know the 143 is suppose to have roller bearings on the output side, but my saws don't see much "real duty" these days so a ball bearing should suffice.

The porting on the 343/143 sure is mobetter than the 133, the uppers on the 133 are nearly half the area of the 343/143.

Got 26 pounds of old Sachs Dolmar stuff coming on the big brown truck. Have to wait to see if I got a diamond in the rough.

But at the price I paid I'm sure the deal will be golden even if I only get the full wrap and a few good mounts!

Not a bad 50cc saw, but a little porky and slow revving by todays standards.

I have a couple that haven't seen the light of day for years. But they are a good saw, far better than the plastic stuff they sell today.

I would think a well cared for 112 would suffice nicely for firewood and home duty.

Good looking saws to boot.

Both of mine had stuck rings when I got them, I would suggest new rings and carb kit. actually both of mine still have their stock fuel lines.

Really the 112 is a good saw, I just don't use 50cc much, when I do it's the 5100. I'm no logger, but have been known to fell, limb and buck with 85-95cc saws.
Guess it's the Tim Allen syndrome, grunt, grunt, grunt!

Thanks

I appreciate the feedback, sounds good I'm certainly not a logger. Just bitten by CAD! Haven't got round to selling any yet, just buying!

In don't see any Dolmars in your signature so I'm assuming that the 112 will be your first. You will like it I think. My first Dolmar was a 114 which is basically the same as the 112. They both share the same piston and cylinder and some other parts. I also have a 116si which is another nice Dolmar.

new guy

Hello everyone I am a long time reader of this forum and new member.Just thought Id say hello. I just bought my first Sachs Dolmar its a 133 Super I picked up for 70 bucks with a 32 inch bar. It had about an inch of dust on it and looked like it had been sitting up for years. I got it home and cleaned it up filled it up with fuel and much to my suprise it roared to life on the third pull. Its a great saw now Im hooked and looking for more Sachs Dolmars.
