Anybody need a 117 PH? Scored cylinder, rings shot, air filter passable, good plastic and case. If you have parts (cylinder and piston) for a 117 or 120, PM me please. Dolmar took a turn down for me today guys, I can get parts for other brands much older than this, but I understand thats the way to do business nowadays too. Any aftermarket stuff available?

OK I'm game name these other 25++ year old saws that all parts are still available?????

Do you know the year of your 117?

Those saws may be old, but I'd put one up against any of "the legends".

Sachs Dolmar had the long stroke/big touque figured out!

I agree 100% the 80's and 90's Vintage Dolmars are Great Saws and most of the parts were available till about 5 years ago.. But when I used to work on Huskys and Stihls alot I always remember them saying when production of the saw stopped so did the parts..... Dolmar was the exception to that rule for a long long time...

Scott,
Just finished 011 number 4. Rings, isolaters, ignition, gaskets ordered and received, and checked on stock for pistons. Yes, I could get one. Ordered rings and received them earlier this summer for a 480A Olympic. Checked on stock for a customers Craftsman 3.7 Poulan, and could get flywheel for that. Now, these admittedly were popular saws, except the 480a, but they still have most parts available. Just ordered today a coil for a 254 Olympic. I'm just frustrated. Its a 117, nice saw, but only parts I guess.

Bought a 7900 with 28" bar a few months ago for felling large pecans in the groves I manage. Later on I got a 20" bar and chain combo from Bailey's for bucking and to get more power and speed. So far, I love this saw and would put it up against any Husky or Stihl in the same size class.

Just today, my (new) local dealer called and said my 3410T was in. I can't wait to try it out.

The guy sold Stihl for many years, but they demanded that he buy more saws than he could afford to stock, so he dropped them and picked up Dolmar. He has only sold about four or five saws, but he said every one of the purchasers have raved about how they love these saws. I hope he can keep the line since I intend to "sample" several more of their products:)

I picked up a Dolmar 120 si today its a good runner needs cleaned up.

It starts easy after you prime it the first time. I could live with it this way, but would rather have the right parts for it.

It is a 120 si. injection start system, it is a turn system, you are missing the whole lever. I think the si stands for super injection , the main thing is the injection part its diff than a choke, not sure if super is correct or not.

The Si`s are the flip over type of choke, yours is missing the lever, it connects to the shaft that you can see next to the black fuel line, rht side, in your last pict you posted.

Thanks both of you, I just found a IPL took a while searching on line. The IPL also shows a plastic part on the carb I'm missing.

Left hand thread, 1/2" drive impact gun, it will come off. or you can use a long breaker bar if you have some way of holding the saw body securely.

JUST FYI (not trying to be a smart A...) WD 40 is not a penetrating oil it is a solvent. Try Kroil, or Liquid wrench, or LPS or any "Penetrating Oil" to loosen stuck threads or parts.
