What is the most any one has every got a dealer to come off of the suggested retail price on a saw. My local stihl dealer is running a sale of 15 percent off the sugested retail an all stihl products . Is this a good deal. In my experience stihl dealers dont like to deal very much.

I just purchased a 460mag for 650.00 cash and carry, don't know if thats good or bad but in my neck of the woods it is, i beleive they list for alittle better than 700.

i paid $650 cash for my ms460 new, could have bought the 440 for $600:angel:

There are 3 Stihl dealers in my surrounding area and not one of them will deal on Stihl saws(except for the 029).2 of these shops carry other brands and if you want a deal, they will direct you to the other brand and admit, they can a little more flexable on price. I know of shops on the internet that say they are not allowed to sell Stihl but,can sell other brands over the net.

That sounds like very good discount level on Stihl.

I don't know if our local Stihl dealers are discounting or not.

The thing that shocks me is that they are charging $48 to $65 shop rates. I don't have much overhead, I work on things for $35. I also sell saws at half way between list and cost.

That is a great price on that Arctic. My dealer sells the 066 Magnums for that price and does not move on prices, but is somewhat generous on the extras he includes, ie extra chain, files, oil.
Chainsaw_Maniac I may have to get your dealer address when I'm ready to buy an 066
