I have little piles of sawdust in my firewood. I can't see any evidence of carpenter bees so I'm a bit stumped what might be causing the sawdust.

I finally found one of the lil buggers when I split the last of the pile

What's the best way to get rid of ppb? I have a few beams in my barn that have them.

I work for the Ohio department of agriculture on the Asian longhorned beetle project. Is it maple?

It doesn't really look like alb though the exit holes are not perfectly round like alb? Where are you located (state)

Got the exact same thing in my wood shed. After watching it for a while, I think I found the culprits. Google "red-head ash borer" and see if it's something you've seen around your shed. Looks like a mini red wasp sort of...... They only bore into freshly cut wood, I've noticed they won't bore into pretty well seasoned stuff. I think they bore in and lay eggs.

I did figure out a couple of things, don't mix borax in your sprayer and strain the borax through a cloth into your sprayer. I sprayed the wood pile pretty good the other day and don't see any new sawdust sign.

Good ideas!
