Perhaps. I've always been able to find them with a web search though. Also, I believe only the Corps calls them D.I. so was wondering why there would be Marine drill instructors in FL. Some type of flight school course?
sorry, didnt mean to steal that from the more worthy posters in here. didnt even bother to look. thanks for the heads up though. its been a pretty great day here so far so why not keep it going.5000th post...
I use to have a pair of these gloves from the military surplus store that had leather palms and removable wool liners. We use to call them trigger gloves because you can pull te trigger with them. Don't remember them being the warmest glove but I'd try a pair now days if I had them...Ambull : We call 'em choppers mitt's. Back in the 70's, guy's on the woods crew, that were doing the cutting and feeding the skidder, were called "chopper's". The independent finger was for the chainsaw trigger. Don't ever remember my hands being cold, even hooking up chokers in deep snow. We treated the leather every morning with neatsfoot oil before going into the woods for the day. Warmest things I've ever worn.

When it's -30, with 4' of snow in the woods, and you're cuttin' spruce and hemlock, You don't care what they look like as long as your hands stay warm.![]()
They do it here too, my wife & I were laughing about it! They closed school on Monday "because it was too cold", no snow, but there was a layer of ice on everything. Gone are the days when bus drivers were required to demonstrate they could install their own chains, and driving in the snow was nothing unusual!
I'll say this, it ain't as enjoyable when it's -20 and cuttin' in the woods, at 62, as it was when I was 32.![]()
